We are on everyone's final list, but just can't get the first commit.
I said this a couple of times on here last season but I think we're seeing it play out...I just don't see a good reason for a top 15 or so recruit to sign early, and waiting until near the end has little risk to the top guys. Somebody will pay them well. I think the trick is simply knowing (or guessing) when the perfect time is, to maximize their earnings. This just doesn't surprise me much but I don't like it either.
No different than just about any other auction...The top 3 or 4 buyers are all bidding against each other at the end. That's how and when ya find out what somebody will pay.

I think each year is different, freshmen/portal guys...but yeah, I agree that every year has a few freshmen that are excellent, but only the top say, 1-5 places can be really counted on for much. And we've seen those highly rated recruits flop too, a few times.
Portal guys are a safer bet than the 6-15 frosh in any given freshmen class, though. More experience, more growth and more tape on them.
then again the guys in that 6-15 a lot of the time perform better than transfer guys, (philon,pettiford,fears)
I said, "safer bet." I didn't mean there are no exceptions. There are plenty of exceptions, both ways.
yeah i think top 25 recruits are better than top 25 transfers
but top 75 transfers are better than top 75 recruits
for example a number 1 hs guys is like a boozer or flagg, and a number 1 transfer guy is a cluff, or ballo
but a top 75 hs guy is like a hawthorne, but a top 75 transfer guy is like a mo or andrew carr from last yr
