I'm for it. Schools will move away from caring too much about recruiting freshmen. Just poach sophomores-to-be in the offseason and skip the red tape of seeing if any of them are worth recruiting for two to three years.

Save resources on travel, recruiting, etc. Put that into NIL for veterans instead.

The days of UK fans caring about elite freshmen might be coming to an abrupt halt.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? I can see it both ways, especially in the NIL era and kids making money. I don’t see how this fixed college basketball though. The portal is what needs addressed.

Stupid it would mean a large percentage of athletes in all sports would not get scholarships because of the 5th year.

America has become a country that is VERY capable of identifying problems.

Unfortunately we are now awful at solving them. No strategy, no plan, and every attempt just seems to make it worse.

Are you serious? College basketball is horrible now and has been for a long time. Everyone has their likes and opinions but all I can say is wow.

The product blows now. I don't watch games outside of UK now for the most part. I may watch some of the mega sec matchups but that's it.
