Do we know if Nana is going to be welcomed back? I am not sure why he was suspended, but I have a feeling he may not be back.
I also heard that a rumor (so take it with a grain of salt) that Thor may head back to Iceland to play pro ball there.
If Hoiberg is able to keep Roby and Harris and keep Green committed, he at least has a start to a roster for year one.
Nothing really to add to this, except that Amir Harris will be a Sophomore, not Redshirt Freshman.I went through the basketball roster and these are the scholarship guys on the 2019-2020 roster.
Hoiberg has at least 4 scholarships at his disposal to get to the 13 scholarship limit. There's some talk about Roby going pro and some other possible transfers. I’m not gonna to start pumping the hoops sunshine yet because I'm sure there will be some growing pains but if Hoiberg can get 3 or 4 ballers, the 2019-2020 season could be exciting.

Fans need to be extremely patient. Basketball success at Nebraska is going to take time, if it ever happens. Investing in facilities, and hiring a great coach, have put the pieces in place to be successful. But it will take multiple recruiting classes, and cobbling together wins, to transform the perception that you can't have a winning basketball program at football school Nebraska. When the standard for greatness over a hundred years is just winning a single NCAA tournament game, it's a tough place to win.
Look at Shaka Smart at Texas. They hired the hottest coach in the country, and in four years he's managed a .515 winning percentage, and an average finish of 6th in the Big XII standings. That's with a significantly better recruiting base and name recognition in basketball. The program needs fan support while they go through the painful process of trying to improve.
Oh......that's a little dramatic. We'll be just fine under Hoiberg & Co. Success will come fairly quickly. 2 years from now I think people will be surprised how far we've come.Fans need to be extremely patient. Or Rick Barnes. He took over a complete dumpster fire at Tennessee but won a share of the SEC title in this third year and finished 2nd in his fourth year.I can find examples too, like Chris Beard, in 3 years, he has his team in 2 elite 8's and a final 4, at worst.
Once they're signed, don't they have to get a release from the school?? Kind of surprised that both parties would be so quick to release. Doesn't mean he still won't re-sign with N, but would be rare.I edited the initial post. Rivals shows him as "signed" so I wasn't sure whether to include him or not.
Source?Remove Amir Harris from the list. He gone.
Next year could be really rough.
I've also seen no mention of Harris leaving. Hopefully a mistake?Source?
I could be mistaken, I believe he was being sarcastic. I suspect you and he are on the same page.Chance at the NIT? If this is a joke then where is your punch-line?
Bleak? The leader of the drama club has showed up. Or perhaps you're a disgruntled Tim Miles fan.
I'm excited for the 2019-20 season with the head coach change. Wipe the roster clean as far as I'm concerned. Give Hoiberg a clean slate.
I had him confused with Allen. Will edit the original postSource?
it was. Confused with AllenI've also seen no mention of Harris leaving. Hopefully a mistake?
Nana Akenten will never play for Hoieberg..
He is a brick layer from the perimeter..
Allen was never a point guard, which is why his loss isn't as devastating as it could have been. He is undersized for today's game as a 2. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have Allen stick around, but 6'1 shooting guards can be a liability on both sides. The team absolutely could benefit from a strong point guard but that may have to come from the transfer portal.Turnover is a part of coaching changes. It happens. The thing that sucks the most about losing Adams-Woods and Allen is that there is no point guard on the roster right now. Hopefully they find someone that is an immediately eligible transfer or a JUCO PG.
Here's how I see the roster shaking out:
I would guess we see around 5 or 6 open scholarships. A couple transfers? Couple JUCOS? Couple HS kids? We need a couple bigs and a couple PG's IMO.

Fred Hoiberg is a shooter. He knows how to teach shooting form. Everyone is going to improve dramatically from the perimeter.
As a fan during Miles' tenure you were almost forced out of desperation to put hope in the transfer portal given his lack of success in developing or retaining the young talent he did recruit as freshman. The transfers also provided the primary hope for some future roster stability as after sitting a year, there was less chance they would leave. A better coach (hopefully Hoiberg) will continue to use transfers strategically, but have better overall roster management and player development.Allen was never a point guard, which is why his loss isn't as devastating as it could have been. Note: I think sometimes there is too much hope from the transfer portal. It's worth noting, if a guy is in the portal, it's because he wasn't valued enough by the current team or he is disgruntled. That makes hitting gold less than a 50-50 shot. While Nebraska has had great success from guys like Petteway, Palmer and Copeland, that type of hit rate is not the norm.
I agree that he was not a true point guard, but I think that he could have done it if needed. I’m pretty indifferent to transfers right now as it comes as part of the coaching change territory.Allen was never a point guard, which is why his loss isn't as devastating as it could have been. You either have it or you don’t.... Regardless how much Hoieberg helps him out.. He’s a liability on the floor..
We will see how this unfolds..
Disagree, there are countless stories of players that weren't good outside shooters that with proper development increased their shooting pct significantly.
Kawhi & Ariza were bad college shooters, good NBA shooters. Without looking, I don’t know it that was due to major changes or not.Go ahead name a few..
Nana nana nana nana Hey hey hey GoodbyeYou either have it or you don’t.... Regardless how much Hoieberg helps him out.. He’s a liability on the floor..
