He seemingly hasn't learned a thing from Frost's mistakes. Nor Chins and Whip.
He's been interim head coach for all of 5 days playing a top 10 team. Asking him to fix everything that's wrong with this team in 5 days is completely unrealistic. This program has been neglected for a decade.

How do you fix ****** tackling in 4 days? Against a pretty good team for added difficulty.
****** tackling is mostly they are not getting to the ball carrier. That's lack of power to get off blocks and lack of speed. I'm referring more to too much blitzing. Blitzing rarely works against teams that pass block well.
I will say, that seems to be the knee jersey reaction for fans. But really....he has had 6 days. The players didn't change....the coordinators didn't change.

i barely started my senior year in H.S. But I've seen enough football to know you can't tackle someone if you are not in a decent enough position. Ball carriers after all does just stop and stand there. You already admitted scheme is important. For the non-football players out there, scheme can often pit defenders in a better position to make a tackle. The best players in the NFL miss tackles when they are in space.
More zone or at least mix it up some. Explain to me all but the best CBs on the planet can cover a quick and a fly pattern. ??? I think Burford is going to be good but he can't be everywhere. To help out the corners.
It's going to take Mikey more than 1 game to undo four years of bad habits. It probably take Urban Meyer 2 seasons to get us back on track.
