Multipliers and de-multipliers, requests to play up being denied, success factors and de-success factors - it's throwing me all for a loop.

Who do we think is landing in 5A for 2019?

Montini
JCA
St. Rita?
Providence?

Looking for enlightenment!

I posted something similar a couple months ago, but here is how I see the 5A Rankings for 2019:

1. East St. Louis
2. Montini (tie)
2. St Rita (tie)
4-10 fill in JCA and the 5-6 5A teams that are typically good to round out the top 10, in any order.

All.... The Cyclones are class 5A. The Flyers will be interesting to watch. At 1262.00 they are on the bubble and could go 5A or 6A. A few weeks into the season the IHSA on their site will bring out their "if the playoffs started today." That puts ALL of the schools into their respective class based on enrollment. Which means very little when a school is a bubble team. As the season continues class shifts occur especially as teams are eliminated for postseason play. This creates shifts up and down in the eight classes.

So unless there is a dramatic shift (up or down) in class 5 & 6 it might not be until very late in the regular season to accurately figure out where ESL will land.

Listed below are the last 2 years of postseason enrollment numbers for the classes in question. Ratsy

5A ….
911-1392
767-1277

6A....
1393-1888
1278-1792
