After clawing back to tie it at 54 and then SHU going on a 9-0 run, the Knights could have easily folded. Instead, they ratcheted up the intensity on D and went on their own 17-2 run to close it out. SHU committed 14 TOs in the second half due largely in part to RU’s defensive pressure. Team displayed an immense amount of poise and character in staying true to Pike’s game plan down the stretch. Enormous confidence builder and a signature win. Hopefully we can build on this accomplishment and avoid a let down.

You wonder what Pike told them at halftime Defense in the second half was excellent. Thanks for including the last six. An enjoyable rewatch

Sitting in the stands, and caught up in the excitement, I didn't realize at the time that Rutgers held SH to zero field goals (and just 2 FT) in the last 6 minutes. That defensive pressure is absolutely amazing. This was an all-out team effort to keep SH off balance and we had incredible rebounding denying them second chance attempts. And with each rebound, the crowd noise got louder and the Seton Hall players got more dazed.

You could tell that SHU was stifled from the Defense. They totally abandoned any sense of an offense in those last 6 minutes. All one on.ones and rushed shots. Thats what a great defense does. It forces the other team put of their gameplan.
