We should go to a bowl. That's a step up for sure but we've beat really bad teams that have a history of being better. This season will make a lot of fans happy but it's not nearly as good as some think it is. Georgia is as bad as they'll ever be and they beat us at home when our fans supported this team like never before. The improvement is there but 6-6 this year is average at best.

Too many years we let bad teams beat us. If you don't like us going to a bowl game don't watch. And please don't be another negative poster that says we are just satisfied with 6 wins, that stupid stuff gets old too.

7 wins next year with a team full of upperclassmen is your goal next year? That says all anyone needs to know about the U.K. Fanbase. We lose a ton next year, 8 wins or stoops should be ran out of town imo

Well, okay. You don't know who the quarterback will be next year, and we really don't know the personnel or coaching losses we may ( likely will) have. Throw in the same for every other team and you have more question marks than certainties.
If I were to give advice, I would say enjoy what this team has managed to do and support them. Failing that, cheer for another team. Other than that, may want to stick with basketball where two players can make a team better overnight.
But I won't give advice......so never mind.

Do you realize you just replied to my post (the post where I said we should go to a bowl which is a step up for sure) with three sentences that had absolutely nothing to do with what I said ? What is wrong with you ? Let me clarify my already clear comments. I said a bowl is a step up and we've beat some pretty weak teams which means we're an average team. At least learn to comprehend what I said before you post a bunch of nonsense.

Champ, I read it and you should reread it too. You belittled the fact that we are going to a bowl by beating bad teams, where am I wrong?

We're just going to have to agree to disagree here. My original point was that we will go to a bowl which is a step up (improvement). I said we've improved which is true and it's a positive statement. The only thing I said that was remotely negative was that we're average. But that's what we are so my intent was not to belittle anyone, just calling it like I see it. Peace.

I disagree. When we beat the teams we beat they were playing terrible. I acknowledge that 6-6 will be better than I expected after Southern Miss beat us but we're still UK and we had a chance to do something pretty special and failed again.
You are entitled to your opinion. You also must be really conflicted personality. You are among the majority of posters on here.

1. We are likely to end up in a bad bowl game at 6-6...it isn't great but some act like this is the best Stoops will do at UK and fans will be "OK" with that. I guarantee that if UK goes 6-6 next year and loses all the players we lose after next year...the fan support will wane backwards and Mitch will have a decision to make (Not that I think he's going to do a darn thing about it).
2. Stoops has to consider going n another direction with DJ Elliott. Will he? (I hope he does and it will tell me if he's about building a better program or being a good ole boy coach).
3. UK needs QB play in a bad way. TO not want to throw it at goal line was telling to me staff didn't want to put the ball in his hands as they feel he'll make a TO. A playaction kind of thing would have been perfect on 1st or 2nd down. Hopefully Danny Clark is a step in that direction (I don't believe in Barker at all) or J. Williams in 2 years.
4. What lost the game outside of WR was DL play. To see Elam getting blown away in backup snaps was just awful. Pringle is way better than him and is a first year JUCO who was lightly recruited. Middleton hopefully improves off of a solid year and I have no idea what we've got at Miggins spot. Also..>Ware and Josh Allen have had good moments at times....but they were dead quiet yesterday. We need top tier edge pass rushers and they didn't show up last night.

Next year is the biggest year for Stoops with all the Srs he'll have. But if SEC East teams improve, will his record improve? He needs to get 7+ wins and wouldn't hurt to knock off UT/UF at home.
Thank you for such a straightforward though broadly opinionated statement that made sense in the 70s-80s.

I understand that the extra practices help. I want UK football to be competitive as bad as anyone but things are not all roses like a lot of posters think they are. I'm seeing a lot of posts from giddy fans acting like we're on the verge of getting into the playoffs. YES WE'VE IMPROVED. We still have a lon

Dumbass, where in my post did I say anything about quitting. I just said we've beaten teams that are historically much better. And FWIW Georgia isn't exactly tearing it up. Just saw a news clip of Stoops saying the players didn't have the 'edge' he expected last night and he wasn't very pleased himself. Go jump his *** and get off of mine. Learn how to comprehend what you read or stop posting. It makes you look clueless.
I think you referred to us as a 6 &6 team, Do the math , then tell me you did't quit on this team for the VOLS & CARDS

If my assumption that UT and UL will beat us makes me a quitter then lay it on me. I'd call it being a realist. If you think we'll beat either of those teams (both on the road) you are in the overwhelming minority. Trust me, I'll gladly admit I underestimated this team if we win either of those two games. For the umpteen millionth time- I say we're better than we've been in the recent past. I say a bowl game is a step up and I'm happy we figure to be bowl bound. I'm not going gaga over this season like some of you guys. We've beaten mediocre teams at best and we're an average football team. No better, no worse.

Champ, if you say that's the way you meant it great, sorry to have misinterpreted it. And I agree its finally a step up but next year we really need a minimum of 7 wins to continue up the ladder.

5 years is considered overnight? In year 5, with a team loaded with upperclassmen, if 6 wins is succeeding to you then you are part of the problem

I really wonder if some people truly understand how successful CFB teams become what they are.

Some seem to think that a Solid starting unit with average talent for the 2 deep is adequate for SEC football. I say this because that is EXACTLY what we have right now. People keep pointing out what we will have next year for starters yet fail to look at the ENTIRE roster. It takes more than 5 years to build a program, and failing to understand that seems to be an issue with some...or maybe they just really don't give a damn and want it their way we they want it.

Give me a team with 3 deep and little drop off from the 1's and the 2's at EVERY position, and then I will start talking about winning SEC East titles. I foresee several years of 6-8 wins before we see another uptick. It's not a yearly progression where you can see "we'll coach has been here six years we should be in the playoff by now"...this is football, not basketball.

It gets us into a bowl. Extra practices are not to be sneezed about nor is tv exposure.

Of course we should have won that first game and maybe the Ga game but that's in the past. Time to move on.
