It will get worse before it gets better. We are now better prepared with the hospitals being built by the NG a the US Navy Hospital ships due to arrive any minute. We will know a lot more by Monday on how we will move forward. Trump had done a great job and people who won't accept that aren't Democrats, Rhino's, or Libertarians. They are simply Anarchist that want to see our country fail.

It’s awesome the Trump administration took this thing by the horns at the onset. Oshitbag didn’t do anything despite tens of millions being infected and thousands perishing. Really a stark contrast in true leadership.

Trump has been great on the virus I believe. I loved the fact that he never actually used the Defense Production Act after he enacted it (which I was highly critical of), he never made any orders for people to quarantine or even try to give them commands but let the States run their own areas, etc.
The economy on the other hand is not being handled well. The government propping up companies that it supports to try to keep them from going bankrupt is not capitalism. Boeing was going to go under because they made a plane that fell out out the sky but are being rescued by these bailouts.

Orange man bad Coop type I know down here - "Trump couldn't be handling this any better than he is. He's in a no-win situation, and handling it each day, staying positive, and giving us what information he can."

I was shocked.

It's about protecting workers right now. We have to have companies for people to go back to work at. However if your company has an office building in the U.S. and a workforce in China that uses slave labor then I agree let it burn down and a new one that employees American workers can spring up.

If the companies have useful capital it will be bought up by companies that didn't over extend themselves buying back their own stock, I could see Tesla/SpaceX buying up Boeing resources for example. I don't think this will lead to a depression because the capital is still there we just have a freeze on the demand side. The best thing we could do in this coming recession will be to bring home as many troops as possible and cut regulation, but printing a money and stealing value from the people to give to businesses deemed too large to fail will only extend the recession not shorten it.

Will be interesting to see how Trump handles the Amazon/Microsoft contract dispute when this is over.

Temps is hitting 80 next couple of days in my area. I'm expecting the virus to magically disappear like Trump said months ago instead of preparing the country with legitimate actions.

Fauci says US needs to be prepared for coronavirus to be cyclical

GETTY: DR. ANTHONY FAUCI, DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ALLERGY AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES

Americans need to be prepared for the possibility that COVID-19 could become a seasonal disease, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Wednesday.

Fauci told reporters during a White House briefing that more cases of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus have begun to appear in the Southern Hemisphere, which is transitioning into colder seasons.

If there is an outbreak in the Southern Hemisphere, Fauci said "it will be inevitable" that the disease will make a comeback even if it is temporarily stopped.

New studies show that warm, humid weather might slow the virus - which could mean the pandemic will ease in the coming summer months in North America and Europe.

But Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a prominent member of the White House's coronavirus task force, said America needs to be ready in case it comes back in the fall.

"I know we'll be successful in putting this down now, but we really need to be prepared for another cycle," Fauci said.

He added that the current steps being taken, such as fast-tracking potential vaccines and drug treatments, will be essential to stopping the virus a second time.

You joke, but Doctors are very very hopeful that the warmer weather slows down the transmission rate.

They are science deniers on positive data. By next winter I'm willing to bet we are close to a vaccine and there has been positive data on treatments coming out already.

Look at what they have learned and shared since we implemented the 15 day guidelines. They will know a lot more in a week. As long as people continue to take it serious over the next week as numbers increase due to it's cycle we will be way ahead on the other side of the apex.

Joe Biden lied during a virtual roundtable on Wednesday regarding his claim that he "became a professor" after leaving the Senate.
"When I left the United States Senate, I became a professor at the University of Pennsylvania," Biden said. "And I've spent a lot of time -- and the University of Delaware has the Biden School as well, so I've spent a lot of time on campus with college students."
Biden became vice president of the United States under President Obama when he left the Senate in 2009. It was, however, in 2017 when he received the title of "Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor" from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kate Bedingfield, a spokesperson for Biden at the time who now serves as his deputy campaign manager, told the paper, "He will not be teaching classes.”
Biden similarly claimed he "became a teacher" on the campaign trail back in February although he didn't specifically say where he taught.

Am gaining much respect for Fauci. He smooths over DJTs tendencies to ramble and refuses to permit the liberals in the press lead him into their world of selective reporting. And he is current on that evolving data.

I do wish we could put the shortages of PPE, Test Kits, Chlorox, Ventilators & Sanitizer to rest. And bring our drug fabrication back to the USA.

Fauci is great....the media is constantly trying to get him to badmouth the President......he does not fall into their traps.
I also get a kick watching his expressions when some of the media asks moronic gotcha questions to the President at the pressers......they bring a certain smile to his face.

The Spanish flu had 3 main waves, each was an evolution of the virus. The first wave was mild. The second was the most deadly. The third was in between.
I thought I read that this one wasn't mutating or mutating as much. Which I would think would be a good sign.

a failing HUGE company being broken up and its useful pieces being bought up by smaller is not consolidation it is actually the opposite. The cronyism is the government running keeping the companies that otherwise would fail.
How should a company that has been told it is too large to fail supposed to weigh risk/reward when the government has already shown that the risk will be minimized?

You seem to be missing the big picture of the failure of globalism. This topic will more clear next year after this plays out.

In the specific case of Boeing, I agree. They over-leveraged. They should have to go through the restructure that comes from bankruptcy which means breaking off and selling a lot of their individual underlying companies.
