Blasted Southview 33 to 6 tonight. I think they just might be your 3a champions. One of the best teams I have seen no matter what classification. Sound in all phases of the game and two legit big time backs! Chris Hughes was right!

People have to take notice. Played a solid game tonight. They should run the table in the conference.
Crowning your favorite team after one game? We see this across all sports. Lamar Jackson has big game and then people say he is mvp. Few days later Dak plays well and all of a sudden cowboys are in the super bowl. Slow your roll… we will have a playoff and games will be decided on the field…there are many good teams/programs out here. Go see some other teams play.
Can't say one game when they are 5-0. This is a solid team. Last night was the conference championship unless they have a let down. Excited to see how they do in the playoffs. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but like them or not they are a good team. We'll see how things play out.

Yes but considering you probably have not seen them play from an unbiased person on this team they are loaded. Not d1 loaded just damn good high school players loaded. No position of weakness. Time will tell though. They demolished a solid Southview team and mean demolished. Could have been worst.
It amazes me when people assume. I’ve seen several teams play including 71st. They have not seen certain types of offenses that exist in other programs. 71st have a lot of 2 way players.
So since you have you should know they are pretty damn good. They are very thin on dline but they will not get a competitive game until deep in the playoffs. So that means they should be rested. The downside is they will not be challenged until they see a Scotland, Jacksonville, Havelock or someone around the triad. It's early but this team is legit. We will see when the rubber meets the road. Not saying they will win it but wouldn't be shocked.
I didn’t say they were terrible. I’m saying when teams play a weak schedule then sometimes one should not go overboard with crowning them champions. There are some teams in 3a east that are 10x better than the teams they’ve faced and present a lot of challenges 71st hasn’t seen…an offense with a legit back, good o-line and big time passing attack. Oh well there will be a playoff soon
Falcons did not play Westover. They should close out season against Purnell Swett with a big win on Friday.
They will be a tough out IMO. If you cannot force them to throw good luck. My only issue with them is they have been in two games all year that were competitive. The rest were true curb stompings!
Southview was #4 until the lost to Falcons. Pine Forest is a solid team which will present problems to a lot of teams. They will surprise in the playoffs. Cape Fear has been a rivalry game.

Agreed they are the class of the region along with richmond. I thought sc could challenge but not likely. LC is up and down. 71st will be better next year if you ask me. They loose some good folks on d but the offense will be insane.
Lack of comp is the most overrated thing we discuss in athletics. Not saying ti applies here or not, but the idea you must play very good teams to be good yourself, or that you must be tested all year to succeed in the playoffs is greatly exaggerated IMO.
