This may be the most brutal conference ever created by the NCHSAA:
Butler
Chambers
Independence
Mallard Creek
North Mecklenburg
West Charlotte

Five of those schools are former state championship programs historically. North Mecklenburg may be wondering who they angered to get thrown into that conference.

Some of those schools are not who they used to be.

Yeah Butler might be rough next season from what I am hearing . Indy will lose a lot not sure what they would be. Mallard Creek should be strong and West Charlotte should be good.

Players are already leaving Butler. They're not even waiting until next year. Chambers was getting a lot of transfers. That lifeline is on E.

The history of these programs is like a rollercoaster on a cheese grater, but for real, their vibes today are like a dad dancing at a wedding! Butler's legacy is rock solid, but losing athletes might turn them into the Carolina Panthers of Last Year. Independence is like trying to fry chicken without oil—ain't got the goods! Mallard Creek is coming in like a tornado with a BBQ grill—get ready for a feast! And West Charlotte? They’re the big dog at the picnic, feasting on success with a plate full of wins!

Will be interesting to see how WC fares in the playoffs now that they aren't in 3A. Probably one of the largest differences in ADM numbers of any school in the state the last 2 years. Will they be like Weddington when they made the jump from 3A to 4A and keep rolling?? We'll see

North Meck has potential. I don't know about in that conference that is like the SEC of NC high school football but I feel like they never reach their full potential. If they could keep people from transferring.

They have been talented for years. Like others said, if they could keep what they lose consistently they would be a perennial playoff team. It's not anyone's fault, they just need some stability. Hopefully they can get that and build something.

movin’ from 3A to 4A for WC gon shake things up for sure, kinda like what Weddington did. They got them bigger Average Daily Membership (ADM) numbers, so they might come out swingin if they keep that flow and build on what they got. Now, bout North Meck, you got it spot on with their talent pool. It’s messy seein such a dope squad not reach their full potential, especially with all them players jumpin to other schools in the Charlotte hood. With big names like Myers Park and Independence in the mix, it’s cutthroat out here, but feels like North Meck got the pieces to step up if they just keep their homegrown talent in the fam. Just check how many North Meck players shinin at other joints; it shows their program tight but also shines a light on the struggle to keep things stable.

West Charlotte will be better in 8A than 3A IMHO. Now if they went 7A then that's a problem. 8A immediately gets them better in basketball, and other women's sports. In 8A there will be 16 teams on their side, and the likelihood of Hough/MC playing early is high. So beat either Hough or MC in the playoffs and you in the state final. Pretty sweet deal.

Of the 32 8A schools you have Chambers, South Meck, East Meck, Garinger, Palisades, west Forsyth, Providence, NW Guilford as possible West side opps besides MC and Hough. That's much easier than Erwin, Dudley, Hickory, and 71st IMHO.

-Hough is the favorite to win 8A. If they don't win it next year they may never win it. WC is 2nd favorite, and MC 3rd favorite. I'd take all 3 over anything in the East right now. All 3 will be beast but wouldn't pick any of them to win 7A next year.
