I believe someone said both NIU and ISU had a bball game 12/6 and staffing would be an issue. Why can’t they play all 4 games at ISU this coming Saturday? ISU football team is in the playoffs and play North Dakota State out of town. People have to work. Families asking to get off work? Tell me there is an obvious reason why it’s not this Saturday if not at ISU, NIU or elsewhere!
Not in Illinois, but in other certain states, HS football is a priorityIt's about staffing. Believe it or not high school football games aren't necessary a priority.
Only Texas. It's high school football, get over yourselves. Kind of sad that you make a kids game such a priority. Not in Illinois, but in other certain states, HS football is a priority![]()
You misspelled ISU.Ihsa in a nutshell….
Isu has a bball game Saturday and they can't staff both the bball game and 2 football games.Poor planning on IHSA's part. You cannot predict the weather but they didn't have a contingency plan in place. Anyone in special events will tell you to have plans ABC.
The kids deserve better. Some parents and extended family members are going to miss the game due to work obligations. Student athletes must adapt and overcome the weird school week with finals approaching. Basically a throw away week.
Did the IHSA attempt to move games to Saturday only to be rebuffed by the 3 CCL schools offering their entrance exam on the 6th? Inquiring minds want to know.
I'm curious to know what some of you do for a living or what you did prior to retirement. Why do some of you think the IHSA can dictate whatever they want to do and any venue should just bow down to them regardless of any previous engagements or that the logistics of moving games is so easy?Poor planning on IHSA's part. It was just a statement of fact. In Illinois basketball is a priority. Texas isn't the only state that doesn't hold back, to play football, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Louisiana, Georgia, New Jersey, Alabama, Carolinas, others..It's about the fans surrounding the game as well.Only Texas. It's high school football, get over yourselves. Kind of sad that you make a kids game such a priority.
They will be on the “U”.I'm curious to know what some of you do for a living or what you did prior to retirement. Any venue they would consider has campus priorities that all trump the IHSA playoffs (I know that's a shock to some of you). Then the logistics of moving the games is huge and takes a lot of planning. Something no one has mentioned, will any of the 4 games on Tuesday or Wednesday be televised? What are the obligations of "The U" on these days? That should have been one of the factors considered in moving the games.
Source? I don't want to assume, but I would hope so. My guide isn't showing the games on Tuesday or Wednesday. They will be on the “U”.
Per Michael O’Brien and from IHSA site....Source? I don't want to assume, but I would hope so. My guide isn't showing the games on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The IHSA statewide TV network is not The U. They'll have their broadcast teams there but no mention of a TV network picking up the broadcast.Per Michael O’Brien and from IHSA site....
The 5A–8A title games on December 2 and December 3 will also be broadcast on the IHSA’s statewide TV Network and streamed on the NFHS Network.

Without an indoor stadium available, Plan B was going to be outdoors regardless.I have to wonder if a plan B was in place in case of inclimate weather. The weather isn't going to get better outside of the snow. The low temperature forecast later in the day on Wednesday is between one degree and five degrees. And there will be some wind according to forecasts. Not easy to play in and very difficult to sit in stands and watch. You will see and feel wind chills in single digits and possibly below zero.
Not hard to predict. But I am sure attendance will be very low.
I am not saying it had to go indoors. It doesn't, although an indoor facility and the games would have been played on Saturday. Which blows away the idea it was cancelled because getting to and from the game would have been very difficult. If an indoor facility was available it could have and would have been moved and played on that day. Provided other scheduling lined up.Without an indoor stadium available, Plan B was going to be outdoors regardless.
