There is one team out there I don't want Naz to play early in the playoffs. I mentioned it before but I will let Naz focus on their game today before mentioning the team I don't think they would matchup well against.

Since 2007 GW has been in class 7A in 8 out of the last 12 years.

7A Enrollment, but I can recall only 2-3 years in playoffs...could be wrong. From all I've heard and known, GW embraces the challenge and respects the competition...often as the smallest enrollment in the 8A bracket. To be the best, you play the best. Go West!

Recently it seems like many traditional playoff teams in 8A have struggled to qualify. This year no Naperville’s, LT, OPRF, Stevenson. GBW has grown in the last 10 years but still would be in 7A if more of the big boys qualify

Posting on a local Forum with the repeated questions of "Why is GW listed as 7A and "has" to be in 8A for playoffs, I swiped this nice quote from here (sorry, can't remember who) that it explains it perfectly...
"Many casual fans don’t realize it, but in football, you’re not technically assigned to a class like you are in other sports. Of all the 500+ football playing schools, they take the “best“ 256 into the postseason. The best is determined by wins, playoff points, and conference champions. Then the largest 32 teams in enrollment go to 8A, the next largest 32 to 7A, etc."

Sidenote, let's get ready for playoff football...best time of the year!!!!!

The Caravan's offense has been prone to drive-killing penalties, which has kept them them from running up huge point differentials. The defense, on the other hand, has iced most of their victories with drive-stopping or game-saving sacks, forced fumbles, and interceptions all season long. As Bear Bryant famously said, "Defense wins championships."

The Caravan have played a lot of close games (Montini, DeLaSalle and Marmian). MC and Phillips will be interesting.

I assume you knew this would have some replies! Entitled to your opinion but going 9-0 in the Catholic Blue and playing a schedule where 7 of the 9 teams they played made the playoffs is kinda hard to classify them as overrated.
MC v Naz in 7A. Anything less is a travesty (as far as Illinois high school football is concerned).
