All on ESPN except for one CBS game:

1. chapel hill college @ Duke = 4.47 million viewers
2. Duke @ chapel hill college = 4.16 million viewers
3. Virginia @ Duke = 3.76 million viewers
4. Duke @ Virginia= 3.31 million viewers
5. Tennessee @ Kentucky= 3.05 million viewers
6. Indiana @ Michigan= (CBS) 2.98 million viewers
7. Duke @ Syracuse= 2.98 million viewers
8. Duke vs Kentucky=2.92 million viewers

People tune in to see them Dukies play whether they like them or not. The only thing that surprises me here is that Duke-Kentucky didn't come in higher but that may be due to the game being so early in the season that a lot of people are still in Football world.

I was looking at ratings for NCAA championship games a few weeks ago. Our ratings vs Wisconsin in 2015 was 28M viewers. No championship game since 2000 has came within 5M of that mark.

There are multiple games in the 90s with viewers surpassing the 30M mark, but let’s make note of DVR and similar products all releasing right at the turn of the century.

The only thing that surprises me here is that Duke-Kentucky didn't come in higher

Mid-term elections are mostly to blame. Also worth noting that a view is counted even if someone only watches for 1 minute. A lot of times unaffiliated fans don’t tune in until “crunch time” and they won’t bother flipping the channel to a game if it’s a blow out.
