Here is a best guess at Soucie's 8A/7A seedings with Lane Tech now removed.
Still many 7A and 8A toss up games that will change team seedings and classes
----------------------------------------
- Maine South moves into 8A as highest seeded 7-2 team (13)
- Stevie(17) loses home game

** 8A **

(32) Aurora West at (1) Loyola

(24) Sandburg at (9) New Trier
-
(29) Bartlett at (4) Edwardsville
(20) Conant at (13) Maine South

(18) Warren at (15) Oak Park-River Forest
(26) Waubonsie Valley at (7) Naperville Central
(23) Evanston at (10) South Elgin
-
(30) Plainfield South at (3) Homewood-Flossmoor
(19) Lyons at (14) Palatine
(27) Marist at (6) Hinsdale Central
(22) Neuqua Valley at (11) Niles Notre Dame

------------------------------
- Shepard(32) moves into 7A as lowest 5-4 seed (32) (or maybe (31), but does it matter?)
- Eisenhower(16) gets to host Mount Carmel (17)

** 7A **

(32) Shepard at (1) Whitney Young
(17) Mount Carmel at (16) Blue Island Eisenhower
(25) Rolling Meadows at (8) Thornton
(24) Hononegah at (9) Geneva
-
(29) Niles North at (4) Batavia
(20) Jacobs at (13) Lincoln Park
(28) Belleville West at (5) Cary Grove
(21) Simeon at (12) Benet
---
(31) Quincy at (2) Glenbard West
(18) Glenbard North at (15) Plainfield North
(26) Oswego East at (7) Glenbrook North
(23) Bradley-Bourbonnais at (10) Rockford Auburn
-
(30) Downers Grove North at (3) Libertyville

(27) Willowbrook at (6) Normal Community
(22) St. Charles North at (11) Reavis

Boy take your choice in 7A for top seed. Computer will likely decide between GW and WY

Second round games for the "winner" is MC at Gately while the "loser" gets Glenbard North at GN.

Certainly makes round 2 interesting in 7A

Currently GW has 40 points and Whitney Young has 39 points.

Both teams have 6 opponents playing each other this week, so 3 additional points each. WY can tie GW in playoff points (and also defeated opponent points, since both will be 9-0) with these probable scenarios for each team's remaining two opponents :

King d. Robeson Coop
Goode STEM Academy d. Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville

and

Homewood-Flossmor d. Bolingbrook
Hinsdale South
d. Morton

then GW and WY tie at 9-0 with 44 points each.

Maybe its looking ahead too far, but the issue is more how playoff brackets align for the semis.

For 7A and 8A, 1-2-3-4 is not really that important as long as the top (subjectively) ranked teams are on opposite sides of the bracket.

If LA beats MC, it looks like LA and H-F would be 1 and 3 seeds and line up to meet in the finals.

It would be great if GW and LHS also were on opposite sides of the 7A bracket. Of course, if LWN ends up 7A, LHS would be a 4 seed and LWN could also join the party at 9-0 and 44 points if :

Richards d. Oak Lawn
Sandburg d LWE

So if these are the brackets and Lville and LWE win round 1 who would be the home team in that second round matchup?

WOW....so Bolingbrook beating Homer Flosswood puts GW back into the #1 seed in 7A. They end with 45 opp victories and the max WY could get was 44 and with Da Brook entering 8A, that pushes everyone down a slot meaning LWN is likely 6A but they would only have 44 opp vic.

That would, if seedings hold, keep GW and Lville away from each other until Dekalb. Of course there is still that game tomorrow in Willmette to determine the final seeding for MC.

Big night for Da Brook

Willowbrook and Joliet west both lose and are out. I think this pushes things up 2. However Bartlett and minooka win and are n, pushes things back down 2. Netw result is as originally stated

Schaumburg is third largest enrollment in 7A and Glenbard West is fourth largest.

If projected 8A teams Minooka and West Aurora do not have enough points (35), Schaumburg is still 7A.

Hey hornet, congrats on the Morton dismantling. You guys are hitting stride at the perfect time. Morton is no powerhouse but they are no doorknob either.
