Rutgers got decimated by transfers after last season. They are small and have no bench.
Its a credit to their coach that they have 6 wins in the conference. They play hard and don't quit.

But they only have 4 guys who can play.
How did they beat Purdue then? And they are not small.

According to the folks on BTN we have the easiest remaining schedule in the conference. Probably true since we have 4 games left vs the bottom two teams in Minnesota and Nebraska. In theory 5-4 should be possible lol. I’d bet the under, but you never know with this team

I'll never say never, particularly after last year's inexplicable 3 game streak to end the season, but I'm so beaten down that go into every game expecting them to lose.

Omoruyi is 6'11", 240.
The second biggest guy in the Rutgers rotation is 6'7" tall, 215.
Harper is 6'6", 245.
NU has Nance 6'10", Young 6'10" , Beran 6'9" , Williams 6'7" and Nicholson 7'0".

Rutgers has big guards, but we should have dominated them on the boards and we didn't.
Collins does not care much about rebounding (to our detriment).

Rutgers beat Purdue because they shot 53% from the floor and Harper scored 30 with 10 rebounds, including a half court game winner at the buzzer. Rutgers has a significant home court advantage and was 7 of 14 from 3. Purdue shot 7 of 26 from 3.

Rutgers couldn't get their D working against the cats until they went with the press which gave them enough time to set up. That was the biggest change I noticed in that regard.

I'm honestly more concerned the coaching staff couldn't take a quick timeout in the last 10 minutes and get a defensive adjustment in place to deal with the guard scoring at will as RU used the same basic play over and over again. Handle that crap.

Then again, my primary complaint against Collins, et. al. has always been their failures at in-game adjustments and coaching. I keep wondering if Baldwin was the only competent in-game guy on staff.

The common refrain around here is no team in the B1G except Purdue is all that. We are great at pointing out deficiencies of every B1G team, but we rarely see our own glaring problems as a team.

Seems you have Collins mixed up with our last coach, regarding rebounding.
