How does the guy that ugly get to bang one of the Cavender twins? They probably make more money than him just from their only fans.
I still think people are taking him too literally
He was trying to emphasize he has a degree--of course he's not taking classes right now--the semester ended a month ago
He's just not smart enough to articulate that--like many college athletes who are only in school because they can play a sport
He graduated 2 years ago.
No longer taking classes towards a degree, just needs to take minimum hours to stay eligible. Basket weaving 101, Breathing for Beginners.
His “ahem - cough cough” academic semester ended in November/December. Now that he is not taking classes in the current semester (his 6-7 years of eligibility are over), no he wouldn’t have any classes to attend right now.

What’s wrong is that he’s in his seventh season of college football. Essentially, he’s a de facto employee rather than a student-athlete. I don’t have a problem with them being de facto employees, but a person’s tenure as a college football player shouldn’t last long enough so that one can qualify for a pension. I’m actually surprised that Chambliss was denied one more year of eligibility.

2021-Redshirt (played 4 games)
2022--Freshman Backup
2023--Sophomore Starter
2024--Junior Starter
2025--Senior Starter
Thankfully the COVID year is basically dead moving forward but it's 6 years and he's only played in 4. He's only 23--so a year older than most when they graduate and just turned 23 before the playoffs I believe. You're acting like he's a 26 year old that's been starting since 2019.
I mean he looks like the human version of Butthead.
The people clutching their pearls over this — because they care about academics (oh, the irony). It’s right in the Fox News article that he followed up “I graduated two years ago” with “Obviously I’ve been working towards other degrees now that I’ve gotten to Miami…” But that didn’t stop the headline writer from calling it a “stunning admission” to generate clicks. Ridiculous.
This cuts off the rest of his answer where he says he’s “working towards other degrees now that I’ve gotten to Miami.” A complete falsification.
He has a Big Personality. The field is littered with flags. I even see a Scone down on the field.

Be broke and without a degree or learning in that degree instead of going through the motions will Help these players in life. So it should matter. Now beck does have a degree and should have moved on to the nfl to make way for someone else to get a chance
He possibly has more schooling than many of the people complaining about this in society.
No doubt, a lot of guys, for decades - all over the country - have majored in "eligibility".
Especially 5th year guys, who would just grab a couple cupcakes to remain eligible for that last playing season (something that I think ought not to get anyone "twisted").
That said:
It is currently Night and Day compared to what academics used to look like a few decades ago (especially when comparing to places like PSU that used to have relatively "normal" academic situations).
Many guys (in the $ sports) play out their entire playing careers taking nothing much more than on-line perfunctory courses - being steered into them by the athletic programs - with minimal exposure or engagement to any normal academic/campus culture. And, more often than not, leaving with a "degree" (many times with what appears to the uninformed public, to be "high" GPAs) - even if it is only casually familiar to them. It is what it is.
It has become, in many respects and in many cases, a joke.
Those who DO engage in and succeed in a truly rich experience? Kudos to them. But it is becoming increasingly rare.

I think John Urschel graduated a lot early. Then the only undergrad classes he attended were ones he taught. I think he might have finished his masters. He was running out of available classes. Academia frowns on getting your doctorate where you got your undergrad.
I think she caught him texting other girls. Unfair assumption on my part, but he could be one knee injury from working at McDonalds. He sure didn’t get where he is on looks.
To be fair, Urschel is the exception--very few guys are even a tenth as intelligent as him.
Uh:
Urshel earned a BS in his 4th year (2012) - a Masters in his 5th (2013).
He played in the NFL until 2016 - enrolled in a PhD program at MIT, and earned a PhD in 2021.
All of those are wonderful accomplishments. Even more so given the commitments he had as a student-athlete.
Aside from the third sentence in your post "I think he might have finished his masters", the rest is nonsense (as anyone who ever completed a PhD - or anyone who simply engaged in a challenging college education - would know). Where you got that from? Get rid of that "source"
FWIW:
In current times, athletes who would GREATLY struggle to so much as be admitted to a university are "graduating" in 3 years (sometimes less)
