1) Why didn’t Zion & RJ get measured yesterday with everyone else? I only saw a couple players that weren’t measured.

2) Why would Zion attend the draft combine? Is it mandatory? Because I don’t see how it can benefit him at all, it can only hurt him. He’s 100% going to be the 1st overall pick, no matter what anyone else does at the combine.

It is rare for a consensus top 5 guy to attend the combine. Zion/RJ didn't get measured because they weren't at the combine. Nowhere to go but down, so why take any risks? Bagley and Carter didn't attend last years.

Good for Cam though attending the combine, he seems like a guy who will measure/test excellent, and should be one of the top performers. Hopefully he can get back into the top 5 pick discussion.

I don’t expect it to happen but it would be awesome if Zion, RJ and Cam went 1, 2 & 3 in the draft like I believe was predicted early on.

It’s the trend that Kevin Durant started. He couldn’t bench 180lbs (roughly, I don’t recall exact weight) and it was blown up into a big deal. He was drafted 2nd overall and a ton of people thought he would have been the #1 pick had he been able to bench press that weight. Before that whole situation every single player went to the combine, after that it’s kind of been a rareity to see a speculated top 5 pick in attendance.

Actually a lot of lottery picks skip out on it. They say if there’s anything at the combine that could hurt your stock, then it’s best not to go. But if you’re a guy who thinks your best skills haven’t been showcased then it’s best to attend. That explains why Zion and RJ skipped out and Cam attending.

Ja Morant who is projected 2nd overall skipped out. So did Hunter and Langford. (Probably a couple others too)
