I'm glad to hear about Snell, but I really thought that Rose was suppose to be the better of the two...

How does he look so far?

Play Snell and redshirt Rose??

A lot of the questions that are asked on this board are answered on the premium board. It's really worth it during football season. That being said I appreciate any first hand observations like this and love to read them. Thanks OP. Keep it coming as much as you can

From the early reports and practice combined with their body styles (Snell doesn't need to bulk up much at all to contribute, Rose could stand to put on 10-15 lbs), I'd say redshirting Rose sounds a bit more likely.

Towles truly sounds like a completely different QB in practice when he isn't getting hit and the lights aren't shining brightest.

I truly hope the light goes on for him at BC. But I love the idea of Barker for 3 years going forward. Knock On wood..
I agree on Towles but I think Dawson did a poor job with him. The one thing Towles was good at was running and using his feet yet we never would call rollouts or run plays for him. I'm not saying that would have fixed all of his issues obviously, but the one strength he had Dawson would not use.

Yeah, that was almost criminal IMO.

Towles has a cannon for an arm but is not accurate on the short and mid level passing game. He is a big guy and can run with power. Brown realized that Towles was not going to be able to run the short passing game and he took what Pat could do, run and throw the long ball, and worked around it. Dawson didn't like QB's to run which is fine but he also didn't run a short passing game so we were left with Pat airing it out and standing back there like a statue (his pocket presence and escapability was particularly limited). I wish Pat the best.

It's just good to hear from someone that was at last year's practice and this year and says Barker looks so much better and PT wouldn't beat out Barker this coming year. We all knew Barker had the potential, now it's time for the kid to put it together and move the football for us every game. We all liked PT, but now he's gone and it's time to support the new guy and hope for the best from him. I do believe he will do a better job at moving the ball up the field this year.

Thanks for all the first hand info, great stuff. Sounds like Eli is really coming on. Hard to get any info from someone that is actually there.

But all is not rosy, I am a little disappointed in you, if you had thrown for thousands of yards and lots of TDs like Tim you could be there for all the practices.

Hell, you wouldn't even have to worry about work.
And, more importantly, you would be married to a former Playmate......and well that is more than enough!!!

I think when there is a starter, the other QBs do not get as much press. That said, Hinshaw spoke quite a bit yesterday about SJ and clearly stated SJ is not a second thought and that he did not come to UK to be a second thought.
Gran/Hinshaw played 2 QBs last year. The backup at Cincy last year played in 8 games and got significant reps in each. Sometimes due to injury and sometimes depending on effectiveness in a given game. I don't think they are going to be bound to a 1 QB or bust system.

I was at the BYU/Cincy game and when Gunner Kiel was ineffective Hayden Moore came in and almost got the comeback.

Not really sure why you quoted my comment for your post.
