No the problem is that so many posters and fans continue to make excuses for Kraft’s bungling of the coaching hire. First it was Sexton; now it’s Jay and Anthony Lubrano. None of them are excuses for Kraft’s failures.
Except these folks have a track record of attempted sabotage. They're scum.

I really couldn't care less what Pat said in private to the team or how he said it. This should never have been leaked and those that released it are trash. And as Zach Seyko mentioned on his podcast, releasing this is likely a felony in the state of PA.
Did it ever occur to you that the players who attended the meeting would share his comments with others independent of the audio?

And you have a certified track record for stupidity and name calling. What “track record” of sabotage are you talking about?

That's a tough one ... Every single time Barry writes anything, or speaks on any PSU topic, or sues the Board, or ... you know ... exists in any fashion? PSU spends money ... it's wrong. PSU saves money ... it's wrong. PSU gets money ... it's wrong.

All of this to simply try to sabotage anything PSU does until they bend the knee at the altar of JoePa and his JoeBots.

So, you can either keep misreading my posts, or wrongly attacking me ... or you can be a reasonable human. Up to you.

This is their life in general. One idiot already asked if Campbell would be addressing Joe....not even official and these loons who are grown men idolizing other grown men (deceased might I add) in order to somehow feel better. It's odd. I spend less and less time on the free board due to these dopes....half of which don't even care about the program anymore just when their Joe will get his parade or stadium named. They were exhausting when Franklin got hired....SOS, but replace Terry for Golden.

Yeah, because we have endless audio recordings of team meetings and the such that are floating around the internet because players/interested parties record them and then broadcast those recordings.

Or, you've lost your friggin mind over this topic, for some unknown reason. You need to get yourself together.

Seyko is a bit of a joke. If that is a felony then Antonio Brown would have been charged for doing the same thing in the Steelers locker room.

I didnt listen, but read the cliff notes. This is a nothing burger. Whats he supposed to say? “Oregon and OSU are better than us boys - let’s face it”. Didn’t anyone here play sports in high school? This is pretty tame actually.
Yeah. There’s some really thin skin in here. But the OP made a special thread of this video with an agenda.

It's more of a reality check, talking opponents down and his team up. Some people
here would never make it through boot camp, or blue collar factories.
I worked in a steel mill. Men there were as hard as they come. But I can tell you the leaders on the floor and in the offices were professional, measured and mannered. This guy is a fool and gross kind of cheerleader. He is paid a tremendous salary and is responsible for what, 29 scholarship sports teams? He should be embarrassed by this and the school should review not only this recording but his chaotic and ham handed approach to the coaching vacancy. He can take his gutter language and hell-yea approach to a lesser job, or to the bar down the street where it belongs. Regardless of the state of college football today, the mission includes molding these young men into the leaders of tomorrow.

It is striking that another university employee speaking in the background actually sounds like the professional one would hope for.

Pennsylvania is a "two party consent" state. This means that the recorder and the person being recorded must both agree to the act of recording.

The problem is that Jay Paterno views himself as George Bailey after Pa Bailey died, and he’s trying to prevent Penn State from becoming Potterville (in his view).
Before looking at the name of the poster, I would have bet a good chunk of money this post was from Mr. Potter.

You need to get out more.

Regardless, I'd say judging someone by ... calling them a fool and "gross," and worthy of losing their livelihood just because they said some bad words, is much, much worse than cursing.

Oh, and during the summers (and some winters) in college I worked in a cement mill. Those guys had filthy mouths ... not just with swearing, but the underlying content. Leaders, non-leaders ... it didn't matter. My father was a "leader" in a steel mill. Potty mouth. Attorneys ... potty mouths. Leaders in finance. Potty mouths.

It's the ones that don't curse that you need to look out for. Can't trust those sick bastards. Creepy and always up to something.

I worked at a factory in Southwest Pennsylvania in a white collar role. I Remember an executive giving a presentation and most of the slides were battle scenes from Braveheart. he was talking about how he put the deck together over a bottle of scotch or something. Yes, there was some swearing as well, but it was a motivational speech. We were so far in backorder that the CEO was ready to come to the shop. And this is a company that all of you have heard of so that was a big deal. While a bit unorthodox, I actually appreciated the conversation. I like and crafts speech to that presentation.

I finally got around to listening to it and don't get what the big deal is. At worse it's pretty casual and laced with profanity but I think that's more about him trying to be relatable and "just one of the boys" with the players as opposed to formal and standoffish. I'm not sure how he speaks in other contexts as to whether its a personality flaw, but this just seems like standard locker room talk. Understanding the context, he wants to win over the players to "his side" and have them invested in the coaching search he is performing rather than fixating on Terry; its understanding that's trying to be more casual and not lecturing them.

And is the link in the first post here the only version? It's edited to heck and the commentary by the host is all just about provocation and seems out of line with what Kraft says. If it were just the audio of Kraft without the constant picking it apart, it wouldn't seem as inflammatory.

I actually have way more problem that someone found it appropriate to leak this and so many people are jumping on it as some massive condemnation of Kraft. Don't get me wrong, Kraft has done plenty on his own to warrant tons of criticism but this video doesn't move the needle on him IMHO

I did not take the Oregon comments as being about the team or the university. Sounded to me like he was referring to the population. Very different IMO. Still, not something you want out in the public.

Like I said, did Antonio Brown get charged for doing the exact same thing?

I focused more on what the kids said. NIL allocation and player development were issues. Young talent (specifically Kobe Howard) should have gotten more run. Yeah, he could have cursed less. But, I like that he gave players his perspective and, more importantly, listened to theirs.

I wasn't thrilled with how I perceived he handled the coaching opening. Did he get lucky at the end? Time will tell. Campbell is the head coach, so I'm on board. If the issues that the players mentioned are addressed, that's a big plus. Also, he gave the players a voice and an ear. That's a positive in my book.
