If anyone has not seen this kid play you will have some chances before the playoffs end and he is a must see! McKinley "Gee" Witherspoon from Hibriten. I have watched football for most all my life and talent like this kid is rare. I doubt we will have another like him come through Hibriten! He has verbally committed to Elon but don't be surprised if you see him on the Kentucky squad next season. There are a lot of great athletes in North Carolina but rare for us. The Shelby fans first question when they knew a few Hibriten fans were at their game was " is that #25 still at Hibriten? " He is hard to forget and barring injury he may break your teams heart in the coming weeks. I hate to see him go and hope he has a great college career and maybe more. 2017 State Champs! I will post more of his videos and will watch any of other special player if they are posted here. I guess this is a tribute thread to great players.

He would be way down the list of big time running backs if he was from Cleveland County. He is good but Shelby and other big time programs have seen good backs before. He’s not scaring anyone. Hibriten won it last year as a complete team not just one player.

Hes a humble kid from what coaches have said and the times I've been around him. He has good balance, speed and is football smart. He and Steven Ferguson are the 2 best backs that have ever came through Hibriten. Ferguson was a standout RB at Elon.

No one said he’s gonna run all over Shelby or South Point or anybody for that matter! Hell according to y’all Zeke Elliot couldn’t run on you! This was to recognize a area athelete not to rile up you chest thumping multiple state championship *** holes !!!!!!!!

And I was clarifying that the kid was really a kid 3 years ago, he is now a humble young man, and a much different football player than those years ago! Also, he isn't the only back that can run the ball!!!

Deer0526, that's where you are wrong, the person who posted th his came on SP -Shelby post, talking trash, bout Sp and Shelby and saying he ran all over Shelby last year.
Again we are sure hes great young man, and athlete , but were going defend our teams too.

Good grief, can a kid not be recognized without being torn down by naysayers? Congratulations young man. Any time a kid gets a college education payed for by playing a game he loves it's a great thing. Who cares if it's power five or group of five or 1-aa. I bet everyone trashing this kid played for Bama or Clemson.

Some of them SHELBY guys have some real low self esteem. I would have thought coming off that big win over South Point they wouldn’t feel the need to boost their self esteem by downing another teams player.

SHS Lion, funny thing is about this post, the guy who started it, was on Shelby vs Sp thread trashing Shelby and Sp and talking bout this kid ran all over Shelby last yr, and that he was at our game and Bess would be looking out his ear hole against Hibriten..
Who attacked who?
I'm sure this young man is great kid, funny how things get twisted

One thing I noticed with the South Point's offense. Where ever Josh Bogen(#42) lined up on offense is theside the ball was ran too. There were only two times all night that the ball was ran in the opposite direction. So there was no secret where the ball was going to be ran. Follow 42 and win the game.

Witherspoon is a really good running back that any team would love to have. He convinced me, in last year’s regional, when he had two forty plus yards TD’s against Shelby.
Props to Hibriten, they were the best 2A had to offer and may be again, this year.
