the amount of prep and film work these coaches do hasnt really lessened... but it has become easier with HUDL.
Who are the coaches that LIVE and DIE in the prep for Friday night?
My 2cents:
There are those that barely watch the film and think they have a pretty good feel or might peak at it... . its the coach that doesnt script and thinks they are smarter than the average joe... going with their gut! Maybe excellent at adjustments but not really game planners. i have seen these types have CRAZY successes and Putrid lows.
There are those who play the percentages and have everything scripted with options before the game is even played... massive amount of work beyond the practice field. They work in those adjustments into what the kids have comfort with having practiced all week. These guys can be hard headed and seemingly slamming a square peg into a circle hole. but they also have that confidence that their NEVER out of it because of the work they put in.
These are the two extremes... Of course you have middle grounders too...
