Is that line about the NLWC true? I saw elsewhere he wasn't allowed to train in USAW facilities or with members of Team USA. Is NLWC considered a USAW facility? Who counts as being on Team USA? Age-level teams count? Obviously, you guys have a bunch of those walking around on top of the senior guys.

NLWC is listed as a USA Wrestling RTC on USA Wrestling web site so pretty sure he would be prohibited from training in the room unless something changes.

I assume you can train in local HS gym or similar space (M2 facility?) and suspect local places would be very accommodating.

Not sure who constitutes any partners “who are on team USA” in any manner. Could be fairly limited number of people if just current team members or coaches. If so he could find adequate training partners. People smarter than me probably know more on this piece.

Really dumb thing to do.

Try being a Cowboys fan....
Kind of like being a Hawkeye wrestling fan. Every year it is just wait until next year and every next year ESPN features the Cowboys daily until the Cowboys are 6 weeks past being eliminated and for the Hawks it is Flo and Pyles explaining into April how this year is the Hawks' year.
Pure joy and entertainment.

Three years is an eternity, 50/50 he can resemble what he would have been after that long of a break. Tragic.

How many here would be happy with Bo dumping MMA and coming back to freestyle full time to help fill the void? To be denied two of our best ever just doesn't feel right, heck while I am at it, add Nolf as well.

Ouch. Guess I was expecting two years and that it would end up decent for him with nearly a year to come back and prep. Poor and/or rash decisions occasionally have consequences. No one's else fault but his.

good, so that will likely get thrown out on appeal.
Maybe, but I wouldn't get too optimistic just because notorious shitposter Lobdell posted some semi-analysis.

Here is the USADA suspension database -- search for wrestling in the box just above the table:

Historically, 24 wrestlers were suspended. At least 10 are not comparable to Brooks (similar to below).

But: only 7 since 2020. Of them: 3 were for not testing (like Gilmam). Oliver gor busted for weed.

So that leaves 3 cases in 6 years worth reviewing:
- Dombrovskiy 2020 = 4 yrs for a documented history of purchasing multiple banned drugs and then refusing to test during the investigation. He was already 30 at the time and possibly near retirement.
- Fix 2020 = 1 yr for his dad's shake Ostarine
- Coleman 2022 = 2 yrs for DHEA

I'm not convinced any of these are comparable to Brooks.

Note: these are USADA suspensions, not USAW. It's lazy and/or disingenuous of Lobdell to only look at one sport and not even bothering to acknowledge this, leading people to draw unwarranted conclusions. USAW could add that on and hadn't previously -- but Lobdell doesn't state which body is banning Brooks from training.

Also note: USADA recently has been giving stiffer sentences . Oliver got a year more than the previous long weed bust among wrestlers. Gilman and Provisor got 6 months longer than any other wrestler who had simply not tested.

So while there's no apparent precedent (at leaat within wrestling) for Brooks' training ban, recent sentences appear to be setting precedent rather than basing on it.

Again: hopefully that part is overturned, but we probably should have no expectations either way.

Just want to say thanks for providing all this info. Best part of the forums and can't be appreciated enough.
