From what I'm seeing, he won't be able to train at the USAW facilities (which includes NLWC) or with members of Team USA (which includes most of PSU's upper weight room in some capacity).

Not just a hit for their senior-level representation, but their young guys like Barr, the Mirasolas, Henckel, etc...lose a key training partner.

Could he try to pursue MMA? I would guess not, but...

Sounds like the suspension is retroactive, so he would in theory be available right before Olympic trials in 2028. Not sure if he will still try for it or if his training could stay up to par. That's a harsh sentence, but his track record did him no favors.

Imagine what he was doing during college when there is basically no testing.

I don’t buy his accidental claim at all.
Brooks is a cheater cut and dried. You don't get banned for 3 years for accidentally popping or for paperwork issues. PSU fans can spin it however they want, but there isn't a doubt in my mind he has been cheating for years now. I'll stop at that if you catch my drift.

Reminds me of a quote I heard in my younger years. I'm sure this is just a single incident for the program. I mean no other fan bases or opponents have ever even mentioned anything about PED's associated with PSU. I'd love to hear Shapiro's opinion though.

Great point, you are absolutely correct. I also agree with your point about Nebraska football, another program that used to challenge for championships!

Iowa is literally the only other team to win a title in the last, what, 10 years? Under your argument, just end the sport.

What he tested positive for is regularly used to mask PED use. The only reason that he used the “OTC supplement from CVS” was in the hope that they would be lenient. It was a Hail Mary and it didn’t work.

One of the things that I think a lot of people get hung up on around PED usage is that they expect people to be huge and/or really cut. If they don’t see that, they assume that no one is using. However in the case of wrestling, that’s not really the benefit. The benefit is improved muscle recovery. A guy on the right PED’s will be much fresher at the end of the season than a guy that’s not.

I think that a lot of people have the assumption that Penn State has a lot of guys on gear. That may be true…and there’s at least enough suspicion around it to question things at a minimum…but I feel confident saying that it’s happening at a lot of places. If the NCAA were to decide to take PED testing pretty serious for 2-3 seasons, I bet you would see a significant shakeup in the way teams finish at the NCAA championships.

Well now you have money hurting the hawks, PED’s hurting the hawks, some kind of cheating hurting the hawks. A lot of excuses and still no good recruiting. Hawks have money, hawks always seem more beefed up than opponents, maybe the problem is the program.

Likely Iowa hasn't learned how to cheat yet. Where could they go for some information on that?

I may be wrong but iowa has never had a 4 time national champ Olympic bronze medalist get popped twice in a year for Peds
