Denzel Abderdeen might be similar to the dude from Kansas we are recruiting. I think he shoots a little better and he has championship experience.

There are better players available....heck we have better players on the roster that people are dismissing.
As a UF fan pretty much this. Good defender and absolutely fearless when it comes to making a play. Good role player but not a guy I would overpay for. Respect the hell out of him. Here is a kid who could have transferred earlier in his career, but stuck it out and played a big role in us winning a championship. Truly hope he gets what he wants but I am ok if I’m UF not paying that. Love the kid though and good luck to him.

The problem with this transfer portal is that in many cases, in order to keep a guy like Aberdeen , Which now is scheduled / expects to transition to a starter role, you need to pay him starter NIL, you can’t pay him bench NIL. Florida probably didn’t want to pay him as much. Coach seen him the whole year, he knows what he can do and what cannot.

Aberdeen for Florida was the third option. This coming year he could have been in top 2 but would have not get paid as national champion starter which he will demand when he transfers.

That’s why for continuation we need to keep getting the best Kentucky boys. We need to raise the level Kentucky HS ballers. If we keep the last 2-3 spots 13-15 on roster for a Kentucky boys that should incentives more kids to ball.

I don’t think he was the 3rd option, I think he was maybe 5th. He was behind Richard, Martin and Clayton Jr for sure and probably Condon also.

He wouldn’t fit the high volume shooting guard role we need. He seems more like somebody who would compete with Jasper Johnson for minutes. Have to think Him and Johnson would be on about the same level.

Respectable post. How much is his asking price?

Here’s to hoping you guys lose the giants you have in the post that share the ball. I enjoyed watching your bigs play within the system

He was pretty good in title game, made a really great play late in game. Not sure he is a good enough shooter though, already have that in Lowe.

From what I can tell no NCAA player has ever won 2 different championships at 2 different schools. Would be awesome if it happened for him (at UK). But statistically it may be bad for UK if he came here.

That’s a misleading stat though, because prior to the portal/NIL, how many kids transferred off a title team? Practically none.

True, but it doesn’t change he could potentially be the first in NCAA history. As far as UK, I wouldn’t recruit or pass on a player based on superstition or historical data not connected to the player. Just interesting tidbit is all.

Agreed … this is a mind-blower, but not really.
I think it’s both fair and sad to say, even if CMP might disagree, the bucks mean far more than the banners do. It is what it is … the new reality.
Facts. That’s why I just shake my head and laugh at those on here who continue to hold on to the “play for the name on the front of the jersey “ BS. No one is doing that. It’s all about the Benjamin’s baby lol.

I wont say I love portal recruiting, I watch it like watching a NASCAR race to see the crashes, watching footage of tornado damage. Watching political message boards as 2 sides melt down. Then I watch the boards for the pure comedy of it all. So yes, I like it for entertainment.

i think you are underrating your guy. He is a very good player. This is a significant and unexpected loss for Florida.

You are certainly the Florida expert so I’ll defer to your opinion on all things Gators.

BTW are you Trilly?
I have ties within the SEC, though regionally close to Florida.
No. I am not Trilly. Until this week, I didn’t know of Trilly. I’ve been told Trilly was a subscription based insider who had worked at Florida. Do I have that right?

Yes….believed to currently be an agent but previously was a student manager at UF under Donovan.
