i think you are underrating your guy. He is a very good player. This is a significant and unexpected loss for Florida.

I’m not underrating him. He is a good player but I wouldn’t put him on the same guard level as Martin and Richard. He is not a guy I would pay over 7 figures. He at times played out of control but improved drastically. I’m not saying it doesn’t hurt, but if he was asking too much or another team was going to pay him double what we were then so be it. Would have liked to have his experience and continuity on roster. I wish him nothing but the best and it sounds like his parents have given him sound advice during his time at UF about sticking it out. He deserves every opportunity to get paid if someone is willing to give it to him. We probably don’t win a NC without him (which I could probably say about most of the team).

Would love to get the Australian guard Henshall. I think he is better than X.Lee but I think there is a good chance he won’t get cleared.

Either way a team will be getting a confident player in Aberdeen and I think in the right fit could be a player.

Very interesting. I like this kid and thought he played really well in the NCAAT. I also assumed that the kid would take on a much larger role for the Gators this coming season.

What I don't understand:

1. Everyone said UF Staff was surprised by this one--does that mean he didn't give them a chance to match or he brought an offer to them to match and they declined?

2. Aberdeen was a player recruited by previous staff/stayed with coaching change, developed, was said to be a starter by Golden going into next year and he still looks for a better deal? Throw in he's from FL and he hung in that long knowing he'd not be given a lot of minutes--was assured minutes/role by the HC he developed under and has proven to be an elite coach of a championship program and leaves?

You have to pay guys and play them or they will find a better opportunity the next year. Anyone other than Perry/Noah will not be happy with 5-8 mpg. We will have probably at minimum 11 guys trying to make it to the nba and no matter what u pay them they aren’t gonna stick around and jeopardize that for more than 1 year if they are getting less than 10 mpg. You CAN have too much talent. All of the guys transferring in didn’t do it to have their minutes cut in half. Top freshmen aren’t coming to play 3 minutes here and 6 minutes there.
