Check filter
Breakers
Our blower unit was wired to a wall gfci in the basement, it tripped and when I reset the gfci it was back in business. Turn the blower to on to see if it’s the AC, thermostat issue or the blower. Turn the fan/blower on and if you hear air running you’ve at least eliminated that.
I don’t know if you keep the filter clean and this might be something you already know but if it gets dirty it can eventually turn your condenser coils into a big block of ice. My brother in laws ac went out and this happened, I removed the panel to the blower and it was solid ice. He had to use a blow dryer to melt it, clean the filter and the unit was running again.
So no ice anywhere. How do I check the fuse? No breaker switches were flipped.
You could have a blown fuse at the service disconnect outside, the grey box by your unit. It has a black handle inside, behind that there are fuses that can blow. Google it on YouTube as it’ll be easier than me posting about it, if you’re not familiar with electric you might not want to fool with it.So no ice anywhere. How do I check the fuse? Good job lolSo I did all the things mentioned except changing of the fuse and left it off for a while. Turned it back on and could feel the power to the unit but the blades on the outside unit weren’t turning. I took a paint stick and got the blades moving and now it’s running. Thoughts?

You’re capacitor is shot. It’s a simple fix if you can get one this late I. The day on Saturday.
Start capacitor would sound better than HVAC capacitor.Good chance it’s the HVAC capacitor in the Unit.
It could still work sporadically with a shot capacitor?
That’s actually what happened to my HVAC about a month ago.Good chance it’s the HVAC capacitor in the Unit.
But how did he get the fan blade speed up to 85 mph with just a paint stick?Yes, when you spun the fan you were doing the job of the capacitor.

I was going to suggest checking the rotary girder
Must’ve been a 5 gallon paint stickBut how did he get the fan blade speed up to 85 mph with just a paint stick?

That's what mine was. Dude also suggested I get a new linear actuator valve. It was only $570 and I figured "if it ain't broke, fix it".I was going to suggest checking the rotary girder
