Pope and the staff have been going balls to the wall from day one.
Great get Coach's: Now we need the 1 more for the freshman class and then you guys can start recruiting your guys back next year and finding 3 or 4 gems in the portal. Next year will be fun. Will be a great team.
Combine that with an elite staff, a system thats fun to play in and really showcases the talents of the players and the money that UK will be able to offer these kids? It’s a wrap. Not to mention that Pope is such a good positive guy that parents will feel completely safe trusting him with their son.

Honestly, feels like our most important recruit in the Pope era. A coveted pg, kind of guy you could see staying multiple years and leading championship level teams.
Couple that with no direct ties to the state or Pope, as far as I know.
I would say we’re back, but looks like we never left. If anything, we might be making our way back to being an elite college team again, a team where your first thoughts are Final Fours and championships rather than draft night.

I am so pumped and happy right now with the direction of our team in Popes hands.

Pope and staff proving to the College basketball world that they can recruit big time. Add his system to the mix and Kentucky is not going to slide one bit. Loving what I'm seeing from this staff so far.

And if he lands Wilson some will give Pope and "ada boy" and say he needs someone else. Wilson isn't gonna make or break the program. No one recruit is.

That’s my hope too. That the freshmen he recruits will be more along the lines of “college contributor” rather than “NBA potential.”
Definitely a big grab for Pope and UK. He beat out Hurley and Scheyer that’s pretty good and lets everyone know with or without Calipari UK will always be UK no matter what!!!!
It’s going to happen too I do believe. We will have a class of Johnson, Moreno , Lewis, and Wilson. Then whoever stays and Pope will fill the leftover gaps with the portal.
Assuming we get Oweh back, we could have one of the best backcourts in the country next year.

That's an extremely talented but young group. I imagine we'd get at least a CG or point in the portal as well as a wing who could play 2-3. We'd definitely need to hit the portal hard if Oweh leaves. Chandler could be an X factor when he comes back online.
Lots to be excited about with Acaden's commitment and what it means for him and the program. Hopefully the young man can use some of his NIL to give back to his community and get his circle plenty of tickets and UK gear. He seems to be a gracious guy and someone who believes in giving back.

Lewis and Johnson both top 20 according to Rivals with Lewis jumping 30 plus spots recently.
I believe the starting wings next year will be Chandler and Oweh and Chandler will be a first round pick at the end of the year. Most players that spend over a year away from the game, whether from injury or something else, improve significantly the 2nd year back. I'd imagine that goes double for a freshman away from the game 2 years. One of the other 3 will be the starting point and the other 2 will make for a very strong top five at the 1-3 spots. If Garrison and Moreno are good enough at center then a starting 4 and a backup 4(Noah?) will be all we need for a strong top 9 and the others we get will be gravy or players not expected to contribute next year. All just my opinion and take it with a grain of salt because I have been wrong before; I can't remember it but I must have been wrong at least once.
Seems fair. Is Noah still growing? I thought he was 6'5". Tough size for a PF, right? Even as a backup?
Are you confident Oweh won't jump to the NBA next year? It's been against D2 opponents, of course, but he's shown out so far.
No, I'm not certain we'll get Oweh back and as for Noah I don't have a clue if he's still growing and it is a tough size for a power forward but Pope has used shorter guys at the 4 sometimes, like Robinson who is only an inch taller. And the other team's 4 would have to guard him and he passes, dribbles, and shoots pretty well so I think it would depend on who the other team has at the 4.
Caleb Wilson reminds me of a Taller more filled out Wenyen Gabriel. Their games look a lot a like.
Nothing alike Caleb is by far a better athlete.
I know the first two games were just exhibition games. However, I think those games have given players a pretty good idea about Pope's style of play. Pope's style should be very attractive to players who can push the pace and can shoot the 3. If you can shoot, Kentucky will give you the opportunity to shoot no matter which position you play. It is unfortunate that Big Z didn't realize this before signing with Arkansas and being used like its 1980.this should take away an doubt when it comes to recruiting for this staff
