ACC Network launches 8/22 and only has distribution deal with DirectTV. ACCN will broadcast earley season games for Clemson & FSU, Swoff better get those cable deals done or this venture will flop fast.

Wonder how many Duke hoops games will be on ACCN? Remember when Duke-UNC was slotted on ESPN2 in mid-90's and it wasn't available on most cable systems? People went nuts.

Everything is available these days so the conference networks outside of SECN for football get lost in the shuffle. People aren't tuning in for BC-PITT football or VT-MIA hoops.

Someone at work told me that no big cable or satellite companies have picked up yet. I have direct TV so I hope that it's on there............

without having to add 5 other channels that I will never watch because it's part of some "package"

When you have directTV

Until...

arrives.

I gave up DirecTv in 2006. I’m probably on a list of people to be detained if caught on DirecTv property after some of my calls to customer service. Never dealt with such a crappy service and even worse customer service in my life. The straw that broke the camels back was losing reception in the final minutes of a Duke NCAAT game. A few years back I received a mail advertisement offering free service for some amount of months. I laughed pretty hard at that one. They could offer to pay me $100/month to use their service and I’d say, “thanks, but no thanks.”

I’m sure they are better now, but living in Kansas in 2006 meant terrible reception during storms and that’s pretty much March to May in Kansas.

We have the same problem with Dish Network whenever it storms or even sometimes when it’s really cloudy we’ll lose service.
