How does Duke play at home 3 years in a row
Do you have to ask?lol Check how many Duke alumni are at ESPN and United States basketball
You're kidding right??How does Duke play at home 3 years in a row

Since you posted this, I was thinking. When was the last time a "generational talent" won a championship? I guess it was Anthony Davis, but since... and before him? Carmello Anthony? It’s amazing. Duke has failed so miserably since 2015 it’s hard to fathom being that bad with all of that talent. No title games since 2015 with the best assemblage of talent since UCLA. They’ve had more talent than UK 2010-2017 and Calipari went to 4 final fours 2 title games and won a title. Duke isn’t close to that and with more talent. It’s hard to believe how big of a choke job they’ve made.
At some point this has to be talked about and it needs to be shown on the recruiting trail. Scheyer is also an average floor coach at best. Sometimes he’s not even that.
I realize they made a final four last year but that should have easily been a title. I don’t even think Calipari would have screwed that up. Duke to make a comparison, wouldn’t make the title game with the 2012 Kentucky team. That’s how bad this is and it’s not being discussed nearly enough. It’s not being discussed at all, the media actually kind of almost inserts that they’ve played for a bunch of titles and won a bunch. They haven’t played for a title at all with all of their talent since 2015. lol. It’s unbelievable that it’s even possible, even more unbelievable it’s not talked about. They might be the biggest underachievers in sports history, college or pro in any league, with that assortment of talent spanning that long and haven’t played for a title at all. If you just think about that, Duke hasn’t played for a championship since 2015 and then think of the talent level, it’s insane. I’m not sure Duke could get the 1996 team to the final four with their record since 15.
I repeated it that many times because even as I type it it’s hard to fathom when you really put it in context. Make a list of all of those players during that time. It’ll blow your mind even more.

Heck, other than Flagg last year, have many even played in a championship game? I'm speaking of the one and done "generational - once in a lifetime players."
edit. Sorry, Flagg didn't play in championship game. Long night.

You really need to ask?
This shift where UNC joins the SEC will not happen for a very long time if it happens at all. The UNC program is light years behind the Duke program in every facet. And Duke will continue to be the premier brand in college basketball whether or not they win a title. They continue to win at an elite level, recruit at an elite level, and market at an elite level. The Duke brand is like a machine and it’s where UK would like to be whether you believe it or not.I’ve stopped asking why Duke this and why Duke that. They’ve been getting special treatment in so many ways it’s hard to even comprehend the favoritism. Team USA, Nike, NCAA, on and on. And they’ve got zero title game appearances in over a decade. It’s unbelievable how bad Duke really is at this when you consider everything.
Duke should have had at least 3 titles more, or more actually, given this favoritism. Glad to see them left out of the power conference shifts it’s going to be wonderful seeing the ACC explode sending them to no man’s land. Eventually the power 2 will have to be given the reigns and those left outside (Duke, Kansas, UConn) are going to see struggles because of it. UK / UNC will be the premier game in the SEC when that happens.
I said this for years. Calipari drove me up a wall. He knew the formula for winning titles, we all do, but he continued to focus his recruiting efforts on 1 thing, getting as many hs players that are guaranteed 1st round NBA draft picks. Then, he tells everyone he put them in the NBA.goes back to what we were talking about in the @I’m The Village Idiot thread about how if winning titles is your aim, freshman are not the way to go. Pope is right to not get so hung up on that, he’s just got to find the right recipe. As good as AD was, without that NBA lockout sending lamb and Jones back to college, he has no championships with all of those players. AD, Wall, Kat, Booker etc. no titles without returning players and Darius Miller as a senior.
Calipari at least took a team of all freshman to a title game. Duke has failed miserably at the OAD in ways hard to comprehend.
Dook also has the help of platforms and organizations that no other program has. This shift where UNC joins the SEC will not happen for a very long time if it happens at all.
