#2 seed Cards face either #7 seed Syracuse, #10 seed California or #15 seed Wake Forest on Friday, March 6th at 5pm.

Duke #1 seed, UNC #3, NC State #4 and Notre Dame #5. Going to be a great tourney to watch, let’s win it!

Game 1 complete! 12 seed Miami withstands a big 4th quarter comeback by 13 seed Stanford to win in OT, 83-76. Miami will face Notre Dame tomorrow. Stanford was a bubble team and certainly had their bubble burst today.

Miami (17-13) will probably need to win the ACC tournament to get into the NCAA tourney.

Game 2 complete! 10 seed Cal whips 15 seed Wake Forest 75-52. Cal looked really good in this game, and 6-5 Sakima Walker had 17 points and 10 rebounds in this one. She will be a handful for 7 seed Syracuse tomorrow, as they meet to decide who will meet us in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Game 3 in the books. 11 seed Georgia Tech 72, 14 seed FSU 60. Georgia Tech gets the 6 seed Virginia Tech tomorrow in the late game at 730pm.

Game 4 complete. Good game between two very likely NCAA tourney teams. #9 Clemson knocks off #8 Virginia 63-50 and will take on #1 Duke tomorrow.

Game 5 complete. Team Hidalgo looking good, beats the Miami Hurricanes 69-54.

Little Hannah (29 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals) should do us all a favor and head for the WNBA draft after this NCAA tournament. She’s got no need to stick around college basketball for one more year.

Got to watch some of the first half of the Syracuse-Cal game. The Orange raced out to a big lead (23-7 at the end of the first quarter). Cal cut it to 4 points late in the 4th quarter, but the Cuse held on for a 70-59 win. Freshman center Uche Izoje had 23 points and 10 rebounds, but also 8 turnovers. She’s going to be a handful.

Cards get the Orange at 5pm tomorrow!

Virginia Tech rebounded from a slow start (down 17-3 at one point in the first quarter) to knock off Georgia Tech 62-54. No double digit seeds advanced to the quarterfinals, which is consistent with NCAA tourney projections that have 8-9 ACC teams qualifying for the NCAA tournament.

The quarterfinals tomorrow should be super competitive!

Top seeded Duke blasted out to a 20 point lead in the second quarter and cruised to a 60-46 win over Clemson. A little revenge for the Dookies after the 53-51 upset loss to Clemson on Feb 22nd.

5 seed Notre Dame rides a big 3rd quarter to put away 4 seed NC State 81-63. Hidalgo with another 25 points in this one. Interesting semifinal matchup between Duke and red hot Notre Dame tomorrow. Cards are next!

8-0 Cards out of the gate. Love the choice to come out pressing. Gets the team running up and down the floor and gets us past any tournament first game nerves. Takes advantage of this team’s depth, and could help us wear out Syracuse in the 4th quarter.

Mackenly Randolph has really come on over the second half of this season. Playing great defense, grabbing rebounds, hitting a lot of open shots, and using her strength to finish at the rim.
