We gave up a layup with just a few seconds to go in regulation. Liked a 2 - 3 zone there. Then, a behind the back with app. 4 1/2 seconds to go to win and she gets the shot blocked. Figured we had it and lost it. Oh well, the girls played hard. Got to find a way to beat the Dukies to be champs in ACC in most years. Hope they get a decent draw in the NCAA.

Not because of this outcome … but can I say that I absolutely hate the conference tourney format? As many as 5 games in 5 days, played at some “neutral” site. Wrap up the regular season one week earlier, and play the games (all 18 seeds, not 15) at the higher seeds home court - first 3 rounds: Wed-Fri-Sun. If you want, have a conference tourney final 4 at a neutral site the following Friday-Sunday. Or stick with the higher seed getting home court - either way works.

Guaranteed you’d make more money (could you imagine the crowds in the Yum for the games against Syracuse and North Carolina?) and you wouldn’t be asking the players to do these 3-5 games in consecutive games BS.

We just can’t close out games.
Some of this appears to be none of the five on the court want to make a mistake at crunch time so they just pass to each other instead of hunting the advantage and shot. This has produced a late shot clock hurried shot or turnover.

I watched the Big 12 Championship game after the ACC Championship game. There was a huge difference in the caliber of play between the 2 Conferences. The ACC Tournament game looked like an NCAA tournament game, with multiple players from both teams making crucial plays.
The Big 12 Tournament game looked like a regular mid season game with only a couple of players from each team making a contribution.

Neither team was playing suffocating defense. Where are all these giant ladies coming from today in WBB?
