Is anyone else surprised with the amount of teams out and how badly they were beaten? Miami, Virginia and Florida St. + 20.

I certainly was. Still can't believe there is only 3 ACC teams left!
Really I'm not. Miami seems to fade this time of year and FSU peaked way too early, plus you can't play 11-12 guys and have chemistry. Doesn't matter how good your defense is, if you can't score you will struggle to score and that's Virginas problem. I personally think ND were a bunch of overachievers. Colson only really good player. The 3 left today are only true contenders the conference has, but hopefully the Holes get upset.

Louisville is in real danger against Michigan right now. The struggles of the ACC this tournament is just shocking at this point.

There are other good teams our there other than ACC teams...it's not like one conference is knocking out ACC teams

We still have the best conference this year period

Someone like florida who has been top 20 all year knocking out someone like UVA who has been fringe top 20-25 is hardly shocking....

The same WV vs ND...hasn't WV been too 10-15 all year? ND was barely top 20...these are not all upsets...

Louisville losing to Mich is a bit shocking...but Mich is hot right now...just like Duke!

Again, just more proof that the ACC was overrated. Were they still the best? Perhaps, but it is no longer 'clearly' the best conference.

With Louisville going down just now it looks live the ACC was much overrated this year. Only one team really matters at this point though.

Disappointing for the conference but at the end of the day who cares. We have nothing to prove to anyone. Win and survive. The struggles of the ACC won't mean squat if we get 2 wins in Glendale

I agree...I don't give a flying crap what the media or message board posters seen to think about our conference...I don't root for others anyway

I hope we are the only ACC team still alive after today

This thing started with 68 teams, 67 have to go. I don't care who goes and when they go just as long as they all go before Duke

Not really sure I buy it..I mean Wisconsin was second in the Big 10 and lost in Conference Championship game and got an 8 Seed...you can't predict anything except the committee doesn't Seed teams very accurately...

I mean Villanova probably had the toughest second round game of any of the higher seeds...they got hosed with where Wisconsin got ranked...are we saying Villanova was over rated?

Well folks, what we have to realize is, "times, they are a changin'". The ACC is still the best Conference in my opinion, but March Madness is just what it says. Teams get on a run (Michigan), they get hot in a game, it's a one time shot each and every game (pressure), match ups, and peaking at the right time. And don't forget, sometimes teams play out of character, as in Louisville today. They owned Michigan when they went down inside, but they started to go a little more one on one and forgot about the big men. Quick jump shots and long three's that didn't go down, Michigan hangs around and then gets hot in the 2nd half, and you see what happens.
To me, I love to watch these tightly contested games, except when Duke is involved ;)! It is so much fun and easy to relax when you really don't care which team wins!
Some years you get multiple teams moving on, some you don't, that's just the way it is, it's called "March Madness" and I Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Duke!

1 game? You sure about that? If so, you need serious help with your math skills.

When an ACC team loses you say overrated conference...that ONE game someone loses in tournament

I can count just fine buddy

I'm done with this argument...I don't give a crap what you "think"...and you don't me either

END OF DISCUSSION

LOL so only one ACC team has lost in the tourney? Love it. You are struggling with your math and comprehension. No need to be so upset about it. The ACC is no longer 'clearly' the best conference. Other sane posters here are seeing the same things I am seeing as well.

But you did say ' END OF DISCUSSION' so I guess that means you cannot stomach a healthy discussion.

The ACC was clearly the best conference all season, but they've been handed a bit of reality the last four days. With the exception of Louisville losing to Michigan, what other ACC team was a clear favorite that lost? Maybe FSU?

Because ACC teams are losing doesn't really diminish the fact that the conference is really good. In one-game scenarios anything can happen. People who watch basketball know that the ACC was stronger this season than last, but last year six ACC teams made the Sweet 16 (and two the Final Four) and this year we might be lucky to have two.

But it is also the way they lost. UVA, FSU, and really ND, were all manhandled. It wasn't close (except maybe ND). Does that mean that the ACC wasn't really good all season? No, but I do not think people can say they were/are clearly the best. It is single-game elimination, but the way that they have represented the ACC is, well, below-average. Prior to this week I would say the ACC was, with no doubt, the best. Now? very debatable. That doesn't mean they are no longer 'very good', however.
