But it is also the way they lost. UVA, FSU, and really ND, were all manhandled. It wasn't close (except maybe ND). Does that mean that the ACC wasn't really good all season? No, but I do not think people can say they were/are clearly the best. It is single-game elimination, but the way that they have represented the ACC is, well, below-average. Prior to this week I would say the ACC was, with no doubt, the best. Now? very debatable. That doesn't mean they are no longer 'very good', however.
I'm not arguing the ACC hasn't been embarrassing....obviously it has been.
But you kind of made my point for me. Before this week, you thought, "no doubt, they're the best." The conference RPI says that. KenPom says it. The eye test says it. But weird **** happens in March. Since 2010 we've had like six 7-seeds or lower go to the Final Four.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm not saying I'm right. It's completely subjective. That said, as someone who watches a lot of basketball, I feel as though the ACC this past season is as strong as I've seen it in a long time. But yes, the ACC has been handed a cold dose of reality the last four days. I can't argue that.
