According to a tweet from Jeff Hoover the new state budget gives state employees a raise except teachers.....

What exactly do you hate about govoner Breshear.
*Beshear

I didn't like his father either. Steve was the man most responsible for ruining the pensions, and blamed it on everyone else. Fiscal responsibility is my top priority for government officials.

Andy is smarmy, fake, and all bluster.

He was on a bullhorn in the capital leading protests against pension reform, then became governor and locked up the capital against protests. Now we are still stuck with an antiquated system that is damaging the states credit while still being underfunded.

He repeatedly said he was beyond politics while ramming purely political executive mandates down the states throat. He greatly damaged small businesses while claiming he was great for small businesses.

His proposed budget got ignored, the legislature made their own budget, he vetoed it and then his veto got overridden. Now he's claiming how great of a financial leader he is.

He spouts a bunch of BS about how much he loves the public school system while sending his kids to private school.

When I knew him back in college, he was an arrogant, narcissistic dork. He's still a grandstanding, narcissist and certain groups eat up the ******** he spews. He is an awful governor that is good at self-promotion and false piety.

Just say you didn’t like him in college. That would have be less wordy. I should have known it was personal. You just seem like that guy.

I barely knew him in college, just who he was. We never interacted, but I'm far from the only person that felt that way about him.

I know his father better than him. I actually like Steve as a person.

Not surprised you would only see one tiny portion of that entire post and base all your assumptions of off it. Obtuse til the end!

I don't see any way to fix the pension system, at this point, other than means testing. I know it was promised, I'm a recipient of it, but it's probably the only way.

I am an educator. I have worked second jobs to make ends meet. However, I will forfeit the social security I pay and should receive. So as you say, I only work part of the year...and thus work another job to help make ends meet, but can not get the social security I pay and deserve. Would you be happy to work knowing the money you are paying will be taken? How would you feel about forfeiting part or all of your social security? It is the Government Pension Offset and the Windfall Elimination Provision. Tell me again how great we treat our teachers!
You forfeit SS so you can get a pension that exceeds SS and most pensions. 🤦‍♂️

False

Your ignorance is real though.

That isn't the first time in this thread you've asked a question, then twisted the response into something it wasn't. Everyone else sees through you.
Why would I argue with a person that has their mind made up about someone. I can’t change your mind and I don’t really want to. I hate trump. You want to try and change my mind? You went out of your way to say you didn’t like him in college. You made it personal.

Me neither. Just not in this environment. Biden is toxic to dems.
The push to the left is more toxic to the democrats than anything. Same thing with Republicans going the other way.

80% of Americans are in the middle of a culture war being provoked by imbeciles on the fringes. Unfortunately, most people won't admit their team has been hijacked, so we get the binary political system we have where nuance is forbidden.

What policies show the right moving to the extreme?

The way I see it, the left has moved to the political far left extreme while the right has stayed pretty much the same. The research I've seen supports this conclusion.

Open borders, socialism/communism, ID politics, PC, censoring speech, the fanatical social obsession with skin color, gender, and sexuality, including sexual indoctrination of children, defund the police, "systemic racism", full term abortion, attacks on gun rights, forced GND climate change idiocy, increased regulation, Covid mandates, calling for tax increases, reparations, ... Just to name a few.

Trumps policies were not extreme. Only the radical left or ignorant push that lie. He forcefully called out the radical left for what they are and rallied the right on America First issues.

The left and their MSM love for you to believe the right has move to the extreme. It's ******** and only serves to support their effort at moving the Overton window further left.

We are certainly divided and the gulf is wide, but most of us on the right are simply struggling to pull back to the sane moderate American middle.

Remember that time he used tax payer money to pay a buddy 275k to remove a statute? Lol I could've paid someone a couple hundred to back a truck up and get it out of there.

Biden has been a disaster and continues to be one. Kamala is actually worse than Biden. No Dem wants attached to them. None in areas that are not completely blue.

Remember when Bevin gave his buddy a $215k raise. Or when he pardoned a convicted child rapist. Or the sweetheart desk he got on a house. Or when, ah never mind.

I know he, Kelley Craft, and Ryan Quarles are all considering jumping into the upcoming governors race. Mike Harmon is the only person to have already declared for the GOP.

I think Quarles would be the best option.

Will be a few very interesting options. To tie it back to the topic, it will be a major election for teachers and more specifically the teacher union. Andy practically turned over education to the union. Moreso than actual teachers - the union drives all the nonsense and is 90% of the vocal nonsense that we hear.

Will be interesting for sure. Time for parents to take back their kids education.

Education majors are among the most academically inferior degrees in Higher Ed. They are loaded with worthless liberal ideology and fluff courses while only lightly covering real academic material.

I'd prefer a Math major to be hired as a Secondary school Math teacher over an Ed major with a watered down Math concentration any day. Most of these people are only lightly qualified if that to teach real academic subjects. I don't know if KY is hiring from this racket or not, but I've seen it elsewhere and it's helps explain the poor quality of education in those areas.

At the doctorate level, PhDs laugh at EdDs. They get no academic respect and are a joke in Higher Ed ... and among the dumbest supposedly "highly educated" individuals I've met.

Most of these incompetents strive for administrative positions so they can feel important while doing nothing that helps students. In fact, their "contribution" is to support and leech off the bloated bureaucracy while further increasing the cost of education and degrading the quality.
I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. I actually write curriculum for private colleges that align with EPSB standards. Majors are determined by a grade level with appropriate content depending on the level. High school level mathematics teachers are in the same math classes as many engineering & business students but they also take classes around theories and methods for teaching content. It’s the same in every subject. The “Liberal Fluff” comes from 1 of 2 places. Associate Degree level courses, specifically sociology, psychology, philosophy, health & wellness, and the like. The other is from double majors with worthless degrees. Universities, especially state schools, are encouraging many ed majors to double major and it’s always in some liberal arts degree involving social sciences that will never produce a job. Poor advising, associates degrees, and colleges looking to cash in on federal incentives for social science classes are to blame for the fluff.

Trump and Bevin have already been defected. Can you all find anyone better than those two grifters?
And, yet, when both offices were open for Dems to take, they picked grifter-only-lived-off-politics Joe and grifter-daddy’s boy Beshear. In short, you have no room to squawk.
