That bump changed the whole outcome of the game. We didn't do S after that. And what difference does that make? If I'm moving equipment or running messages, does my task determine if I'm allowed to be bumped into?

Yea, he's an old drinking buddy of mine.I didn't realize you knew him personally.
Actually, it's about the filing of a criminal complaint. Adaway may very well file a lawsuit, but the title of the thread is consistent with the articles I have seen that said he filed a criminal complaint. To be fair, this thread is about Adaway filing a lawsuit. The TX judiciary will do it's thing, which is a human resources matter.
Adaway claiming that he was abused/assaulted is another. Does this rise to the level of assault? Probably not. But good on the kid for standing up for himself.
At the very least the optics of this are horrible for the officer himself and for whatever branch of TX law enforcement he represents. I'm sure the vast majority of them (like all law enforcement) do their jobs in a professional manner. It's always the ones - on both sides - that make it more difficult for everyone else.
He’s looking for payday, plain and simpleMost of y'all are stupid. This cop went after them in the tunnel. When Adaway tried to move out of the way, the cop gave him a forearm.
This is a college football player being targeted by a cop. Good for him for standing up for himself.
The word you're looking for starts with a "D" and ends in "rats"The trooper was actually removed from all gameday duties. But who even cares? The contact was so minor. I've been bumped into harder at the mall.
What kind of weenie little excuse for a man NEEDS an apology for something to trivial?
The cop was a complete a$$ and knew exactly what he was doing.
And I am about as pro LEO as they come.
But I still have eyes and realize that they sometime make bad decisions. He initiated the contact and then absolutely turned around and tried to cause an issue. He was pissed SC players were celebrating in "his" tunnel.
Harbor handled it amazingly well.
If you can't see that, you are blind.
Don't disagree. But there is a wide chasm between cops being a-holes and charging them with assault.
I agree with this completely but let me take you down a rabbit hole if you agree with my original statement. When I first read the assault claim I thought that same thing. It is absolutely ridiculous to clam assault for what transpired if that is really your motive.
But then I read somewhere that SC tried to get the name of the officer from Texas A&M and Texas A&M public safety and they refused to give it up. I do believe I read that or something similar.
So maybe (and this is all speculation on my part) Adaway is just pissed off at the situation and wants the call out the LEO and is doing it in the only way made available to him. The rabbit hole part is that you have to almost imagine a John Grisham novel where LEOs can get away with anything. This is Texas A&M after all so it may not be that much of a stretch. So maybe what he did was an attempt to try to force the LEO to apologize or to make restitution in some form. In fact, I believe that Adaway's lawyer just said that one of the reasons for filing with the DA was to get the name of the LEO.
Who knows and I am sure many will disagree with me.
This answers so many questions. What? I wasn't thinking about football. I practice law and people get sued all the time over much less than what that officer did. I admit it. I am the litigious type. I, also, have very little patience for law enforcement taking advantage of their badge with little microaggressions thinking you can't do anything. Yes, I have lit officers up for stuff like this on the street all the time.
That's pathetic. He has retained counsel and wants to file assault charges.
Someone needs to talk him out of this.
