If anyone who has ever taken this exam or any other police exam would like to offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Weren't they discriminating against those whose scores were too high? My guess is they want people smart enough to not embarrass themselves or the state, but not too smart to upset the apple cart.

Chances are, you'll be fine

Are you referring to the 100 question multiple choice test? If so, that thing is pretty easy. Took that many years ago when I was seriously thinking about becoming a cop. Pretty interesting experience and was pretty far into the process before I changed my mind. Not being able to control where I would be living was a big deal for me. Best of luck to you...

Your monthly quota is $3,000. If the average citizen has $120, and you pocket 15% of seized property, how many minority citizens do you have to plant drugs on.
Assuming you are turning in the rest you still need to rob 30 to meet the quota. I would assume you would want to show you are better than minimum so I would go for 40-50 just so you are working towards those accommodations. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That one needs a calculator. Hope OP gets to use one.

I know one question that is on the test.

You've just been granted a No-Knock Warrant for a 18 yr old who is selling approximately $60 in marijuana a week. You've just mistakenly kicked down the wrong door, find out its an 89 yr old Christian lady. What do you do?
A. Tell her sorry and leave
B. Shoot her and sprinkle crack dust on her
C. Turn off your body cam, shoot her, and then sprinkle crack dust on her

OP- the answer is C. Best of luck brother.

That is true. Seems like I remember the SC ruling on that many years ago.

No, I am an Army Veteran. I am currently finishing an associate's degree and hoping to go into law enforcement right after I am finished in May.

Veteran= Near lock to get a solid job upon graduating in the field of your choice. You are not a female, and idk if you are a minority, but you are still in good shape based on the Veteran status alone. If you are also fairly intelligent and well spoken during interview...you got this.

LMAO....these dumbasses dont know anything about a law enforcement exam. The closest they have come to any police exam is a sobriety test on the side of the road.

Do all lives matter? Do you like dogs? Can you cook saw meal gravy? Do you like donuts?

If you answer yes to the above your a shoe in.

From everything I'm hearing now, it's not very hard to get sent wherever you want to go. Even if you finish towards the bottom of your class, you still get to go where you want after a year.

I have a habit of not taking things too seriously. I'm not sure if it's a strength or weakness, but I'm more likely to be the guy who doesn't write enough tickets, rather then the ******* cop.

Good on you, but I doubt your boss leaves that up to you. Been there.

A friend of mine became a KSP officer and was out on the road just a few weeks and pulled a guy he knew over for speeding and let him go. His Sergeant heard about it and pulled him in the office and dressed him down and told him, "we didn't spend all that money training you to let people go that break the law". He said he never did it again in his entire career.

LOL...that will all change...as it should or you wont make it very long. You start working those fatalities and seeing what speed does to the human body inside of steel and metal and you will become more serious about writing tickets and such. The average person sees this as being an a-hole because they dont see the carnage everyday and dont think about it the way you will.

That's a very good point.
