These young men learned a valuable and hard lesson Sat.

My hope is the coaching staff learned a hard lesson Sat. My hope is this loss will be the thing that clicks the light on for this program.

What i seen in the 1st half was a talented fast team. No question its their. We have the talent. I seen it with my own eyes.

What im hoping is the lesson learned was to never let up until the game is over.

I believe these inexperienced young men flat out slowed down and relaxed with the thinking they had won the game.

And once they got smacked they couldn't recover. Now they know this feeling, they know this could happen.

Im going out on a limb. I think we beat Florida and make a great season out of this year.

I say this based all on what i seen that 1st half. Do not believe the break down was due to lack of talent. This break down was a group losing focus on a level ive never seen. Im hoping this loss and the way it happened put these young men in the right mind frame. No question physically and talent wise they have it.

May eat my words. But i seen something Sat. And it was a solid SEC football team.

Get ready to have to defend your position!

I still think we can beat Vandy, USC, Austin Peay, MSU, NMSU and Mizzou, but based on the second half (and 37 games), I don't think there is any way we can win them all even if we are favored. We are too disorganized and I don't think we are well coached. And I want to be wrong.
Last night I said I was done-but I will be watching next Saturday. As always.

No way this team is beating UF. All they have to do is run it up the middle.

A win at Florida next Saturday is about the only thing that would make me excited for the season again. Unfortunately, Florida has the ability to hand the ball off to their running backs and that will ultimately be our downfall.

I probably won't watch the Florida game but will keep an eye on the score. Hard not to have rooting interest in your team and want them to do well but my days of planning my schedule around the game time is done. Our defense looks as bad as I have ever seen it and if we had any semblance of a head coach in charge he would do something about it.

I get it. Seems like the same old story. I just seen something in that 1st half that i have not seen at UK in a long time. Talent. Just hopeful that light kicks on.

We can beat UF if we make some 1st downs. D is not horrible. But our D is not good enough to carry us or spend more time on the field then our O.

Our D is good enough if we can use them in spurts. 3 and outs is what killed us. In the 1st half our O stayed on the field. That gave our D time to regroup. In the 1st half our D looked as good as the O.

The talent is their. Im hopeful its mental and inexperienced guys learning on the job.

If we get the INT start the 2nd could of been a different ball game. If we dont get 2 pass inf calls they punt. But the biggest woulda coulda shoulda was when Love popped that guy at the 1 causing a fumble. If we get that fumble huge momentum swing and great confidence building for D. Instead they grabbed the lose ball and quick snapped a sneak.

Looking back our D got tired not outplayed. If any of those scenarios goes our way, i see a different ending. I believe one of those would of stopped the bleeding.

All that tells me is their is hope. Dosent mean we will build on it. Just means for once talent not the issue.

I absolutely agree this is more likely what happened along with our two short possessions totally gassing the defense. Not giving up on this team or this staff. I do believe the staff made some serious coaching errors but USM was too good to think the game was over. UK football has not arrived and the sooner the players and fans understand that the better

We've started well and faded the last two years. Maybe we can reverse that trend.

I've had a day to get over it. There's not much we can do but watch. I'm one who has kept buying tickets every year for 16 yearsv but I suppose that if the season goes like the second half did, I'll have to choose whether to support it or not.

I just cannot fathom the lack of adjustments and the boneheadedness on defense.

Not watching the UF game at all in hopes that it will be the game that UK ends the streak and saves Stoops and this program for the foreseeable future. I have seen the last 29 losses so I am desperate to try anything different to create some mojo for this program.

The D got tired becasue they were thoroughly being outplayed...

Granted they got outplayed in the second half but the main reason they got tired is because they were on the field almost the whole second half. The offense did not help at all in the second half with only 2 first downs.

Sure, I agree.

But also note the very first 3 drives were 29 plays, 207 yards, and 3 TD's.

Let's not act like the D was giving the ball right back after a bunch of 3 and outs.

The only stop came with 2:07 left in the game.

In all fairness the main reason the defense couldn't get off the field is because they couldn't make a stop. SMU scored on every possession except the last in the 2nd half. Hard to complain about lack of rest when you can't get off the field.

I'm not defending the defensive play, you said "The D got tired becasue they were thoroughly being outplayed..." My point was the offense did not help them. Even Stoops said the defense did not make the stops so thats obvious, he also said the offense did not help with only 2 first downs.

Its obvious they could not stop, no one is disputing that but when your offense only gets 2 first downs in a half you would have to expect the D to be gassed. Can you agree that if the offense played half as good as it did in the first half we probably win that game ?
