Big Ten is loaded financially. Makes sense. Almost all the games are on TV. Plus good education

Now, no BIG team is outside of the top 90 in Kenpom. Thinking more and more that 10 teams from rhe BIG in the Dance is going to be a reality, though there is still a long way to go...

I think the conference would have to thread a serious needle to get 10 in. 8 or 9 is the likely outcome, IMO.

Also, everyone getting up into the top 90 isn't really good for maximizing # of B1G teams... you actually would want the bad ones (Rutgers, Illinois, PSU) to lose nearly all of their games so that they don't take away wins from teams that are going to be on the bubble (Indiana, Nebraska, Minnesota until recently). Sadly not us, or not right now anyways.

I think there are 6 sure NCAA bids:
UM
MSU
MD
UW
IA
PU

I think these are questionable:
MN
NE
OSU

Almost certainly the following are not going dancing, short of winning the BTT:
NU
Illinois
Rutgers
PSU
IN

Nebraska will struggle down the stretch without Copeland. I think it will come down to either OSU or Minny getting the last bid, and OSU has a large win over the Goofers and is much higher ranked by Torvik. My bet is 7 from the B1G.

Mostly agree:
- On the nose on Nebraska, they looked good early but are falling and with the injury that might continue
- OSU will likely make it but showing cracks
- Minny NET ranking isn't that high, but 6-4 in conference and no bad OOC losses says a lot. When they play all the good teams later, I think their NET will rise as long as they don't lose like nearly all of them. So they are bubble now, but have a good chance.
- Indiana is dropping now, but because of their OOC wins (Marquette, Louisville, Butler), they can get in with 9-11 or maybe even 8-12 (though I don't think they would deserve it). Don't forget they are a TV draw too although the NCAA will of course deny that matters (cough, Trae Young Oklahoma last year). And the NET seems to like them more than they probably deserve. I agree they are on the outside now, but I think saying they're out "short of winning the BTT" is inaccurate.

As of today I think OSU and Minny are the 8 in, Nebraska is right on the edge barely in but trending down, and Indiana is outside looking in after their loss to Rutgers.

I will say 9 or more. We can see who is correct at the end of the season....

Uh, 8 seems like a lock at this point, and Indiana is first four out, and will be first four in with pretty much any win (and they nearly got it last night). So my 9 or better is looking pretty good. Your prediction of 7? Not happeniing....

So which Big team team is final four potential? Seems Michigan is a realistic option, but MSU too banged up. Final 8? Just think that is Michigan too. We might see a lot of these big ten teams bowing out in the second game since they have been beaten up all year.

Agreed, though I do like Maryland. They present matchup problems for a LOT of teams due to their height and the skill levels of their bigs and Cowan..

Might want to read every post in the thread again. I was far more accurate than some other posters...

Notice he never makes a prediction of his own. The only time he did, you kicked his ***. Now, he avoids it and just calls out others when they’re wrong like the chickenshit he really is.

Next time, ask him to make a prediction. ;)

I just started a thread about predicting the minute distribution. You must be blind.

Uh, you llterally stated 8 or 9 was the likely outcome. So how could 9 be unlikely?
Didn't I call exactly the 8 teams that would make it...? Whatever though, I don't know why we are re-litigating this now to begin with, who cares (I fully realize Bob brought it up, not you, so that is not at all a complaint directed at you)

Here is the post in which you directly stated "8 or 9 is the likely outcome, IMO." So you see why I questioned you now when you stated "I commented that your belief in 9 was unlikely"?

Typo aside, it doesn't change the meaning of my post. The contradictory posts Ricko made were literally on this page, so no searching required, meta or mega....

I found those four threads in less than the few minutes Lara afforded me, FYI. But carry on with your mega-self.

Haha dude look at what is quoted in that post, it was in response to you saying there were going to be 10!! I was talking you down.

The one I quoted earlier was the most recent post I made (the only one I had bothered to scroll up to read frankly) where I suggested the 8 teams that ultimately made it. There were also other threads where you were pushing 9 and I disagreed but I don’t really care to find them. You could just admit that my “prediction” in this case was more accurate than yours and be done with it but that’s probably too hard. This is all really dumb anyways. The past is past and predictions are mostly random. I’m quite positive I’ve said many many many things that turned out to be wrong. Let’s move on.

Based on the amount you post here, I highly doubt that you are only spending a “few minutes” a day on stuff for this board.

Quite true, but I’m spending most my time ‘ranting.’ I think it was also my last posting for that session as I think Lara was calling for me.

Also, archive searches are easier from the computer rather than the phone.

But this has been very rewarding, I must say.

Oh, I did this responsive to Mike being all snarky to NJ about betting and how Mike is always right. So, this small sample size and the aftermath serves its purpose for me. I’m sure there’s plenty more evidence. But search is over. For now.
