I don’t know if this is hype or not, but Pike said he can score around the basket as well as anyone he’s had.
Maybe the “can he be Shaq Carter” expectations are too low for him.

Listening to the B1G interview with PikIell , Baker and Harper the coach mentioned Agee as 6’9” -6’10” 260lbs. which does not fit with the heights listed when he transferred into RU. Have seen 6’7” -6’8” … if he is now the later then yes we have a Shaq Carter type.

Cliff has commented on how tough it has been defending Agee in the post during scrimmages because of his footwork and ability to get guys in the air

Just guessing here….

Agee is nothing like Shaq Carter. I will guess Agee will be a scoring option (not sure about efficiency). What has me worried right now is how much of a drop off he will be defensively when Cliff is out. Will he rebound?

Read any quotes from Pike talking about the program, the team, past performances. He's got a positive pitch for everything. That's good.
Pikiell has literally never said anything negative. He will praise guys on the end of the bench for showing up to the arena before he acknowledges that one of his players performed poorly. It's just the way he is wired.

#19? Cleon Jones was #21? My entire street(all relatives) were Met fans, except for me. SF Giants was my team.
Don't recall his number, at least without going to the video of his two WS catches. But he was an easy guy to like, and I remember loving watching him run.

Did injuries cause him to retire? He was out of the league so young.

I like pike as a man. Great guy. But it’s year 6, we all know he always overhypes/embellishes things with his teams haha

You very rarely hear a coach speak so highly of his team in pre season. We must look pretty damn good right now. Most coaches say we are getting better, etc. Pike says this is the best team he’s ever had. I’m excited about that. We have good veteran leadership so I hope that bodes well for us on the road. Geo, Harper, Mulcahy and Caleb have all played a ton of basketball in the big 10. Cliff in his second year should be better and Agee has played a lot. I also like what I’m hearing about Mawot and the LSU transfer. Notice, I haven’t even touched on Jaden Jones or Jaylen Miller. Jones has the ability to really light up the scoreboard.

I love the fact he’s grown 2 inches and put on 40 pounds since coming here.

Pike finds the positives but he’s not a bullshitter.
I think that's the key. Saying things like "We're getting there" or "the guys are working really hard" is very different from "this is the best team we've had here".
Pike uses coach speak and won't denigrate players but I've never noticed him blowing smoke. I think he said last years team was the best he's had - and we got an at large bid for the first time in 29 years and took the 2 seed to the wire. Seems like he wasn't exaggerating.

As he should, he also loves the veteran leadership and experience.
We’ve got a core of been through the wars players.
I think we’re gonna be very good

Thank GOD for basketball and our veteran, seasoned and successful B1G Ten level players returning.
This team is the antithesis of our football team.
Can’t wait to watch us and not feel completely inferior

Coaching staff is projecting Agee to be 7 feet by the start of the season. A hi-top fade haircut is definitely in order here…
what do you expect, the coaching staff is going to stretch Agee a bit, using the RAC(k) to do it

Or Wayne Garrett because I thought his wife was cute in the 1975 yearbook when I was
7.
I was 11 and thought she was cute, too...lol

His height/weight have been inconsistent at prior stops. We currently have him listed as 6-8/245, which is sort of half way between Gil Biruta (6-8/235) and Austin Johnson (6-8/250).
