I love a southpaw but I don’t know how he was so highly recruited and went to Ohio state. It matched what a I remember seeing on the high school film but slow release and pretty inaccurate.

It's OSU's approach to stock up talented QBs out of HS. The cream rises to the top, the others transfer.

Off topic, but I don't think you should get to have a nickname until you have accomplished something in college.

That nickname came from HS. He passed for over 4,000 yds as a junior and lead his team to the 6A title in Georgia as a junior. That is when he got a boatload of offers.

He looks better than Woods.

Not at throwing the ball he doesn't. He doesn't look better than any other QB in D1 college football at passing the ball. A 10 year old who was just learning how to throw could throw a better looking pass than he threw into the end zone on that TD pass attempt. I was shocked at how poor he looks as a passer. I am truly wondering if it slipped out of his hand. That is the only thing I can think of.

I have no idea how he was so highly recruited.

I have been watching college football a long time and I can't recall a high level college QB that looked poorer at throwing the ball. Which is a pretty important skill for a QB.

I thought his wind up was extremely slow and the throws inaccurate. Cutter was better imo, but I'm certainly no professional.... But you can usually tell with the release. The good ones have a certain quick, smooth, release that just stands out. He doesn't have that at all as of yet

The announcers last night said that is actually his name - not a nickname.

They are incorrect with that. His first name is Prentiss.
His father had the "nickname" Air for Air Jordan. (His father played basketball) The father then made Air his son's legal middle name. It is on the birth certificate.

Yeah, I know, but it seems silly that everyone still calls him "Air" when he's done diddly in college. Particularly when the other "Air" is the greatest athlete of all time.

Greatest athlete...nah. I'll hear the argument that Jordan may be the greatest NBA player, but he sucked at baseball.
Now, what all did Bo know!?!?

Eh, I dunno, ask 12 people and get 12 responses.. Could probably argue Jim Thorpe.

Main point was Jordan got his nickname after he'd actually accomplished something. Noland can have a nickname in college when he does something. Don't like these guys coming into college with nicknames when they haven't even done anything.

It's not his nickname. Fake news.

Man, you guys are such Polly Anna’s. I wish we could get some real football critics on this site. This sugarcoating everything about the team is getting old.

I didn't see the end of the game, but how bad could Noland have looked in his limited action that a fan demands he needs to transfer? He was 2/3 passing with 1 rush for 4 yards.
