His job just got exceedingly more difficult with injuries to Allar and Donkoh and whoever else might be banged up.

What type of gameplan do you think he will implement against Ohio St?

1) Very similar to what we have already seen with hardly any new tweeks/plays/formations? (Stick with what got us here)
2) Mostly similar to what we have seen with a moderate number of new tweeks/plays/formations? (Look for the right opportunities to mix in something new)
3) Quite a few new tweeks/plays/formations that Ohio St has never seen on film yet? (Keep Ohio St off guard and guessing from the first drive)

I have a feeling he has some plays waiting for Ohio State that have not been shown this year yet.!At least I hope so.
I do not think there will be too much that is new but I attribute the wins we already have to Coach K getting the team confident and prepared as well as the team overall being very mature and experienced. Franklin put in place an atmosphere where elder statesmen Warren, Wormley, Beamon, Dawkins and others returned.

2. It will be largely the same, with a few new wrinkles. This is typical for a new OC, you'd expect him to implement base offensive concepts early on and as the team gets those down you work in a few new concepts each week. The x factor on offensive changes could be what changes if Beau starts the game though, that might appear quite different since he's such a good runner.

Probably just meaningless gossip but a WVU fan i know thinks they go after AK if they fire Neal Brown.

Was impressed by Pribula's ability to throw into tight windows. Seemed really decisive. Hopefully he can do that vs. the OSU secondary.

I had mixed feelings watching that. He made some great throws in tight windows. I have to admit I was wondering during the game if some of those would be interceptions rather than completions if it was Ohio St rather than Wisconsin on the field.

I think you’ll see much of the same with maybe 1 or 2 new plays put in just for OSU. PSU tends to turtle up some during the OSU and Michigan games and, if Allar is out, I expect a pretty conservative game plan.

AK is going to take his shots down field. Biggest thing for me is if Beau throws a pick keep firing down field. Be aggressive and if a mistake happens so be it continue on and keep firing.

How is osu defensive line this year. If they need to load the box to support the line then hit them with Warren and Clifford and wheel routes to singleton. If they play more deep then pound the rock.

I think WVU goes after Curt Cignetti ( Alum ), but Florida and Oklahoma may offer first.

I would hope Coach K is content here and maybe PSU can give him a great offer.
Wishful thinking.

During Wisconsin game they said that all of the shifting and motion was just window dressing to get back to a base play. I'm expecting to see us doing the same things, but occasionally running a new wrinkle that we haven't shown yet.

We need to run Double TE's 2 slow the game down grind it out on them...kind of like what Illinois did to us a few years ago....slow play them then wait to hit them over top..wear their defense out and not let them Play M2M, extra guy in the box and blitz the crap out of us...cuz thats what Knowles will do.

I'm afraid that after all is said and done, the game is going to be decided by this ...

Their wide receivers are better football players than our defensive backs.

100% and we will need to play Zone...we will need an amazing Pass rush and #11 needs to play like the original #11 and make their QB highly uncomfortable.

They may be better football players, or not. The dilemma is, in a game that will probably come down to a few plays, the OSU WRs don't need to be better on every play, or even a majority of the plays. 3-4 "big" plays is going to be all they need, and I'm afraid they'll get them.

Hopefully Tom Allen is scheming multiple ways to bring the heat. Their OL is banged up... go after 'em. I think if Howard gets pressured early on he'll not get in a rhythm. Could be the difference maker.

He’s decisive because they give him only one look. He’s not going through progressions.
As far as windows, he’s living in the edge. That one ball should have been picked. He throws that ball against OSU it’s coming back the other way.

The way to beat PSU is to take away their pass rush. To combat that, PSU needs to take away the run (which they obviously couldn't do against SCum last year).

Not worried about OSU’s run game. The only run threat is their QB Howard IMHO, watch for him to extend drives until we adjust in the second half if it’s not too late.

We are on point... thread about the new OC has devolved into what the defense needs to do.

He failed miserably. 2 field goals and failure to score on 4 plays inside the 3 yard line.
Not to mention the interception on the corner fade at the end of the half.

SMFH.

Why should there be a need for "creativity" with 4 plays inside the 3? The lack of success on that goal line stand wasn't due to play calls; they could have succeeded, and didn't. Sometimes it truly IS the Jimmy's and Joe's.
