Cats lose a close one to the Tide, 31-27.

UK had a 27-16 lead with a little over 9 minutes left in the game and couldn't close the deal.

The glory of the Power K is on full display.

Painful memory. I was there for this one. Not gonna watch it; I already know how it ends.

And at Tuscaloosa in 2008.

Another close one, 17-14.

Bama was ranked number 2 in the country.

I was at the 1988 game. On the last play of the game, No 70 for Bama lifted out of his stance early and should have been flagged for a false start. I think another camera angle shows at least one other Bama player moved before the snap.

Those Claiborne teams were tough as nails.

In the 88 game, I also remember poor clock management on the UK punt that gave Bama at least 20 extra seconds of game clock for their final drive. The UK defense allowed the Tide to convert a 4th and 7 deep in their own end of the field to keep the drive going.

Aside from the infamous "Bluegrass Miracle" game, this was probably the most painful UK FB loss that I witnessed in person, but like many of you I have also witnessed many others as well.

I was right there! Who would have thought the Bama Head Coach would be our coach next year! Probably because of whom it was against make it the biggest loss of all time! Led entire game! Two pass interference penaltys cost us late in 4th! Cloudy day from what I remember got a lot cloudier over Commonwealth!

Unbelievable loss, one of the most painful ever, ranks right up there with the Wuerfeul to Doerring loss.
Just one of many rip your heart out losses by the CATS. After
*the LSU miracle I refused to watch football the rest of the year.

Actually Claiborne would coach the 89 season and then retire, but your point is well made. I sincerely believed the Curry hire was a great one at the time. I was wrong on that one, that's for sure.
