Looking forward to getting 30 free throws at Bama.

I have an unhealthy hatred for floppers.

And 3 point shooters that kick the defender, make me see red.

They got hot from 3 and it didn’t help that they were in the double bonus before we even got to the bonus. Ball seemed to bounce their way too.

Flop or no flop, the rule states a shooter must have space to land. By the rule it was a foul. Crying over a rule will not help, our coaching staff MUST address this issue we seem to have every game. The opposing shooter would be foolish not to fall in we are in his landing space. It is a good play for them and a horrible play on us.
Look at it again. I believe they called hitting him on the arm. He didn’t. Plenty of room to land. Clear flop. Needs to be cleaned up.

Bama made more FT's than we took. I honestly think these game/games are way too fast for refs keep up and they ghost whistle anything that looks close, yet they will not call the obvious. Burns my ***

If I want to watch a team that can compete to win the national championship then I'll watch women's basketball.

This here .... im not watching this no more.

Embarrassed me for the last damn time
💯.
By all means GTFU
Supposed to win games like this at home. Sickening
Cmon dude , you lose money or something on this one ? Bama is ranked 4th for a reason , predicted 1 seed , we are what we are , a team Pope patched together at the last moment with 5 top 15 wins already ... it sucks to lose to people need to act like we need to find the nearest bridge to jump off of

Yeah imagine thinking the women's team is a title threat. Same handful of teams win the title every freaking year in womens

Absolutely. They have 0 shot at a ncaa final four.

I didn't want to comment in the women's threads because kudos for them for doing well so far but I noticed they have avoided the ranked sec teams until February and March for most part. Much improved from prior years of late but a bit early to say they are a title contender lol

Worst part is we have to wait a full week to try and get this taste out of our mouth with this being the only week we don't play a mid week game and that game next Saturday is on the road at Vandy where we always play well but will now become a must win and they are no joke.

I hate losing. But I’m proud of this team. The athletic difference between us and them is glaring.

But our guys played their asses off.

Sometimes you just get beat with your best effort.

That happened today.

We have a week now to get ready for the next game.

Hopefully we don’t fall out of the top 10.

Bama balled and did what they do best.

We can nitpick plays here and there, decisions some players made on offense, shots they could've made, but we lost the game on defense. We shot better from the field than them, but they still shot well. They did well on the glass, got the line, and didn't turn it over much. There isn't a single facet of the game where we were good on defense.

You look at Williams’ stats and people would think you’re crazy. But it doesn’t tell the true story. You can summarize Williams lazy play on 1 possession. Little over 3 minutes he gets thrown a lob, doesn’t elevate so turn over. Jogs back and freaking stops at the Alabama 3 point line. Bama misses a 3 and Amari is just standing there so Bama guard gets rebound. Amari walks into the lane so the guard kicks it out and Amari makes a half *** effort to close out. 3 for Bama and ballgame.
The only time I feel he's ever engaged in things is when he's got the ball at the top of the key and looking to hand it off as 2-3 use him as a soft screen. Other than that he's trying to "get his" with that silly, SLOW, back down to the basket, and that quite-oft lazy rebounding effort.

Disappointed we didn't win. However, no doubt in my mind, this team will be a serious contender in March. Bama just made crucial plays at the right time to win this one. I'm really enjoying Almonor's emergence as a reliable bench player. This game was there for the taking. We just couldn't quite get it done. Looking forward to the rematch in Tuscaloosa.

People have been saying this for years but need to tear down that old tobacco barn and build a modern arena were the students sit on top of the opposing team. Thats my take. Just doesn't feel like the atmosphere in rupp really gives uk a home court advantage.
Ridiculous. Rupp was rocking. 1st home loss.
Bama was just the better team today.
Not the crowds fault

Bama made plays give them credit.
We lost our offensive identity
We made bad plays in crunch time
Williams started out with his new identity with energy and aggression, then reverted back to his passive EEYORE mentality later.
Looks miserable out there when he does that and holds us back. He’s the key to our year IMO. Has to play with passion
excellent . Williams needs to maximize his talent , because it isnt real high . He cant play dumb and with less than 100% focus . And get Carr healthy

A week off might help Carr a little and Butler. But no game to watch mid week does suck

I thought it was the refs fault.
Don’t get me wrong they made some terrible calls. But that’s not why Kentucky lost.

Kentucky lost because Bama wanted it more. Played 40 minutes of intense defense with max effort.

And mainly, they stay disciplined on offense. Sharing the ball and running their stuff.

Kentucky gets in a pickle they go straight ISO and it never works because we can’t beat anybody off the dribble.

Game could have gone the other way easily but Bama shot better from 3 than usual.

I ain't much for moral victories but hey...Cats hung with number 4 in the country and never quit playing
Is what it is. Learn what you can, get healthy, move on.

Crucial plays at the right time? They did that the entire game. They’re very disciplined on offense. Sharing the ball and making their cuts every single play. Not to mention giving 40+ minutes of max effort on defense.

On the other hand, Kentucky minus the first six or seven please abandoned the offensive identity and went straight ISO and getting beat so bad off the dribble they had to back off the three-point line giving Alabama wide open looks.

Cal had 1 thing right for sure. 2 hands to rebound. Amari plays half the game like he is paralyzed in one arm.

Listening to Matt Jones and he said Pope made some argument that having your arms up slows your lateral quickness. I call ********. Pope may not have had a lot of options this year but Williams plays the game like he thinks the other team is just supposed to let him do what he wants and struggles when they challenge him ANYWHERE on the floor.

He's a clown. This was a VERY WINNABLE GAME. Pope needs to address the issues with Lamont and Amari, and things will be better. The rebounding was better. Despite some of our guys standing around waiting for someone else to make something happen, we still had twenty assists. The three point shooting was great. The free throw shooting was good to very good. This was a great game to watch (even if I turned it off and watched the very end of it through ESPN play-by-play). Pope does need to address some things, continue to hammer home the importance of being there for your teammates, helping to make things happen for your teammates. Mark was better today at staying on the refs.

When Williams came back in with under 4 minutes, I was like why?

I love everything Pope's done but that move I don't get.

Ridiculous

When you get beat off the dribble and you have to back off the three-point line, that’s what happens. We could not stop Bama, but on the flipside Bama could lock down and force Kentucky into iso and make them abandoned their game plan.

Really frustrating

15 OFF rebounds one of the stories of the day and how many 3 balls did they get off them at the end
