Alan Colmes RIP

I read very few pop political books (Ann Coulter type stuff) and I haven't read any for a long time and probably never will again but I did read an Al Franken book long ago (I think it was "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot"). It was back when Hannity & Colmes was on Fox News. When referring to Colmes, the book used a really small font. So you'd read a sentence with all the words in the same size font and then it got to Colmes' name and the font was small for his name. I think the idea was that he was meek on that show and let Hannity dominate him.

I used to watch Hannity & Colmes and other shows like that back then but at this point I'm of the opinion that they're a waste of time. I'm sorry the guy died but he and a bunch of people in the media like him do nothing useful and just make a living by wasting peoples time and dividing them into fighting groups.

I liked him. He was fervent in his beliefs but never bitter or hateful and never accused the other side of hateful actions. He just disagreed. He was meed but always seemed to make his point, but no name calling, not disrespectfully, and with a smile. I rarely agreed with him, but thought he did a good job of defending his points of view. The interesting part is that he was married to Monica Crowley's sister and O'Reilly would pair them in a debate. I bet it made for interesting Thanksgiving Day dinners, lol.
