Any idea which sites are most likely for us then?Nova and SHU will almost certainly be in two of the four pods. With those schools predicted in the 3-4 range as seeds meaning you will need 3-6-11-14 and 4-5-12-13. So basically one pod is eliminated as RU wont be a 12 or 13 seed. I suppose RU could be 11 seed where SHU is a 3. Will Penn State be headed to Albany or Cleveland. With their seed falling to 6 or 7, that could eliminate a pod for Rutgers as conference foes cannot meet. Providence is likely headed to Albany as perhaps a 7 so that could matchup well with RU as the 10 but I wouldnt want to play them right now. Also RU is being considered for the 8-9 game. I dont see any 1 seeds going to Albany so that is an issue as well. Dayton will be in Cleveland
trying to place all the Big 10 schools in the seed list..likely 10 of them will be difficult
I have to believe that as the team with the longest drought and the fact that we have many older die-hards whom have been waiting, we are the most vulnerable fanbase to the corona virus. For this reason, Rutgers should play close to home.I don't think that the committee will even consider the corona situation when placing teams. I hope I'm wrong.
here is a question. would you rather a worse seed/tougher opponent in Albany or a higher seed/weaker opponent in spokane?
Any idea which sites are most likely for us then?
BAC - what am I missing? Isn’t there still a decent chance that Nova lands a 2 seed in Albany? If SHU wins their tourney they will jump Creighton and be a 2 also. Couldn’t RU land in the 7 / 10 game there? Certainly these teams could land in Albany as 3 seeds and RU could be an 11. Seems to me there’s definitely a possibility.
Best case for t to be sweet is to wind up in a winnable 7-10 game and then take our chances with a weaker 2! That would be sweet ! Sweet 16n
So many schools possible. Nova/SHU. Both? Doubt Big East gets three so Providence not likely. Winner/runner up B1G if Dayton gets Cleveland? PSU? UVA may need a home. Hofstra, Vermont, BU/Colgate?
Also NCAA will try to not make BYU play on Sundays so leaves Albany as an option for them.
Rutgers is America's team though so Albany does make sense! Good a possibility as anybody. RU V BYU?
maybe but I like them as 3 now. I can actually see no Big East school getting that 2. It could very easily be filled by a Duke or Louisville or Michigan State or even Kentucky.
If RU is seeded in the 8/9 game you can basically kiss Albany goodbye.
I doubt very much RU will start out in Albany. The Committee will want to test them on the road, so I would guess best case is Cleveland. Otherwise maybe Tampa or Greensboro?
So the brackets are set up to ensure teams from the same conference do not meet until the sweet 16? If so that will drive the placement and perhaps seeding if there are 10 B1G teams to situate. I think I would rather be the strongest 10th seed rather than an 8-9.
The committee is trying to keep everyone as close to home as possible as they go down the seed list, while adhering to their bracketing principles. Under no circumstances would they intentionally send a team further away just to "test them" based on how they do things. But, based on the difficulties they'll have slotting all of the Big Ten teams into the bracket, you will see some teams traveling since there isn't another option.I doubt very much RU will start out in Albany. The Committee will want to test them on the road, so I would guess best case is Cleveland. Otherwise maybe Tampa or Greensboro?
