Any new updates on our turnout or how summer workouts are going? And other news from stanly county teams?
You know the answer lake man. Albermarle has had all sorts of problems discipline wise and with bad occurrences.
From what I have heard they have had a pretty good turnout all summer and had some great camps. You know how it goes will get some more in as school starts. Excited to watch them play.
Albemarle football took a huge hit over the last 5 years. If they are lucky and avoid injuries they could finish 4th in conference. No way they can come close to defeating NR, NM or WM. Their schedule could allow them to finish 6-5 but that’s the ceiling.
Meant North Stanly. I don’t see the Dogs beating North Rowan, North Stanly and West Montgomery. The Dawgs should beat South Stanly, North Moore, South Davidson and Chatham Central.
North Rowan and Albemarle were tight until Very late last year and then north took off on them same with north stanly and west mont if I'm not mistaken. To be honest they may finish 4th this year but man it is great to see the Bulldogs moving in the right direction again. Coach Davis is doing one heck of a job and my hat is off to him. The success will come
North Rowan had a 21-7 lead at half and a 28-7 lead after 3.
If I remember correctly they scored at the end of the first half on a turnover and the same in the 3rd quarter. Offensively no doubt we have to get much better. Too many turnovers last year.
When Albemarle got down by more than 2 scores last year, the game was pretty much over. The Bulldogs could not get a lot going on with their offense because they lacked an efficient passing game to come back.
2018 is a new year and I imagine some kids will step up and take the challenge.
Agree to that. Plus this is the first full year for Coach Davis who did an excellent job with short time. Looking forward to watching them progress
Not trying to be funny but the Bulldogs were better on offense last year than in 2016. I guess the Dawgs ran some variation of the single wing that year. Whatever it was it was ugly.

I agree Coach Davis is doing a great job. What do you all think are our chances in the county? I think we beat West, and South. North will be a battle, but I give them the edge to win the cup.
North will be a battle especially with their additions. West was really a close game we gave away with lack of O and turnovers. We are a lot stronger this year than the last couple of years combined and faster. With what coach davis did with our defense and special teams I can't wait to see our offense this year. If we get away from the turnovers and our offense putting our D in bad positions we should be ok. Not sure we will have enough this year to climb over NS this year but we could battle NR and maybe WM with what they lost.
Coach davis is getting everything lined up but I think it will take a couple of years to show the fruits of what he is doing.
They ran a double wing that year... Charlotte catholic runs it..but of course they have the personnel to do it. That offense was god ugly
It’ll be hard to beat NS, but I expect a decent game from the bulldogs this year....now Next year is the year and the year after that, that good team at the middle school will be pilling in lol....
Catholic does not run the double wing. They run a wing-t.
Albemarle ran the double wing in 2015 with not much luck. If 2016 was a double wing I would be surprised.
Catholic's wing t is also a hybrid not the traditional Delaware wing t. It has evolved from and it's base is straight t.
I'm pretty sure last year was just his base offense as they were focusing a lot on defense and special teams. This year while the focus is still on defense they have taken more priority towards the offensive side. He has stated multiple times that from a philosophical point he wanted to get the program back to the Albemarle Bulldogs offensive schemes from the past.
I heard the QB that transferred was a good athlete, but not a game changer. Average at best. It's the offense and defensive weapons that gives NS the edge. The only teams that can compete with are schools that have programs like Mt. Airy / Murphy...

Like most 1A schools avoiding injuries will be big for North Stanly because most don’t have the depth to overcome them. Still think there is a drop off on quarterback from last years to this year but their running back is the real deal. He is worth the price of admission just to watch him.
