It looks like Same ole Same ole AC up there in Taylorsville. Seems like they are running pretty much the same system under Coach Marshall so not a lot of changes to the offensive side. AC has talent there but im little shocked they are under performing.
I saw they had a huge lead and still lost.After that EPIC collapse AC should probably just shut the program down.
I swear they don’t practice for on sides kicks. Newton recovered 3 in a row and south recovered 2 in a row. Few years ago Freedom recovered 3 in a row and came back and won after being down big. They had a total meltdown against south. South scored 36 points in the 4th quarter. No defensive adjustments. Kept single covering #4 for south who burnt them the whole 4th quarter.
Idk what happened but Looks like AC didnt make adjustments for whatever SI did differently in the late 3Q/4Q. South Iredell set 2 record in the game i think it was Passing TDs and total receiving yards of 309 in a single game
Talent isn't the issue. They have enough to compete with anyone on schedule this year ( minus Hickory and watauga) . The coaching staff is pretty much the same as it has been the last ten years minus Carter and he’s been in the press box every game this year. There are still coaches that where there when I played in 98 -01. There need to be some changes and defensive coordinator would be where I started. But when your athletic director is the Defensive coordinator its not going to happen. The lack of defense and defensive adjustments is baffling. I cant tell you how many times Ive seen guys score and no defensive player be within 15 yards of them.
I just have to disagree about the talent, they just dont have the size or speed to compete day in and day out with any team equal to or above their classification. The school system lost 83 total students last year, which isnt a large number but its 320 kids over a 4 year period thats a class size in 6A. Only way things change is if Hickory and Statesville get so overgrown with talent, AC picks off a few kids who can bring size and speed that cant get time on a loaded team.
Also my question is : When i was in school obviously they still some they played both OL/DL but seem like they had more linemen depth in my era then they do now so where the linemen at?
