A running game like Missouri. Everything else would work if we had that. Play action pass would work and defense would be sharper because we could chew up the clock. I hear people say that we will never have that and may as well line up and throw the ball every down. I think that is BS. If Mizzo can build a quality OL and find RBs like Hardy and Roberts we can too.

That would require several ingredients we don't have, both on the field and on the sideline.

Our strategy is to tire out their pass rushers 🙂

I can't remember the last time we had a reliably solid run game.

Beamer has to go all in this off-season on attacking that problem. You're right in what you say. If you can establish a run threat, it opens everything up. If it's known that you simply can't run the ball, nothing else will work. Poral, recruiting and NIL must be solely directed at the OL and the run game. Go big with an OL coach hire. He has to be absolutely aggressive in addressing this.

I don't care what QBs, WRs, or other skill players you bring in. If you can't run, you're dead.

We had a pretty solid run game last year, but it wasn't due to a good offensive line

You are right. Throw everything at it - we can find a QB if Sellers leaves. Everyone else does. Pribula was a backup and the guy at Ole Miss was third team.

We had a running back that won the Heisman Trophy. And led the NFL in rushing his rookie year playing for a crap team.

We've had some good backs since then too. For awhile it seemed like we found one every year. We have nothing this year. IMHO, Faison is a bust - but the OL is partly to blame.

Yes Rico Dowdle is still in the NFL. I want to see more Fuller.
Did Fuller even play in the second half? Sometimes it seems like if a player doesn't follow the "script" exactly he gets jerked. Sometimes RBs have natural instincts they need to follow. You have to give them a chance.
