All SEC Final

The SEC had an 0-4 bowl record prior to yesterday's games (UGA-Michigan, Alabama-Cincinnati).
Now it's 2-4.
And once again, the road to the National Championship goes through the top-heavy SEC.....or just Alabama if you follow history.
I don't want to see a CFB playoff of more than 6 teams. I think the importance of the regular season doesn't need to be diminished. Let the pros reward mediocrity.
Everything in sports is a big money-grab orgy however, so I believe a playoff system of up to 12 teams is very possible. And since I have no say in the matter and seeing how it won't affect my life, I frankly don't give a s??t.

Actually, there's now pretty solid evidence of why a 4-team playoff is at least two too many the majority of the time. And the last thing anyone bitching about blowouts should want is adding even more of them to the mix with an extra layer of cannon fodder.

I was sort of hoping Michigan would win but now that they have laid their egg, am tickled that (aside from Herbie) the b1g should receive less love going forward than OU has experienced because of past playoff results
Seems like Big 10 should have brought Purdue into the game against the Dawgs. But the Wolverines crapped their pants...
Fewer bowl games would also mean better bowl games. Teams should have to win 7 games to qualify. That would mean all teams in the top 25, plus 5-7 more teams with 7 wins to have a 15-16 number of bowls.
All of this is just meaningless rhetoric as the NCAA and network money gods will surely expand the playoffs in the near future.
As a lifelong fan of college football, and for what it's worth, we should remember that some of the greatest games in CFB history have been in bowl games that had no championship at stake. OU's bowl history is just one example.
For me I am just tired of SEC fans that are not Bama fans, you know the ones that thump their chest because of Bama's success. Bama fans have earned the right.
Have a family member that will be at the Sugar Bowl and is an alum of Ole Miss say today that a lot of Baylor fans have been coming up to them and are worried that Ole Miss is going to blow them out. He said he thinks they are nervous because Bama and Georgia won last night. He also asked if Ole Miss wins will they be crowned Big 12 Champs? Good grief.

Understand your resentment of the SEC.
But so many of the national championships since 2003 have been won by SEC teams (12) that the arrogance of its fans is to be expected.
Only way to shut them up is to beat them and that's a tall order when it comes to the CFP's....especially when both teams are from the SEC.

Thats true but the Conference Homers that never win it boast the loudest. Thats the ones I am talking about. aTm fans, Ole Miss fans, Arkie fans etc.
Its the match up the CFP Comm wanted. Thats why they ranked the playoff teams the way they did at the end of the Season.

Well, I’m sick and tired of Nick Saban so I’m hoping for a Georgia win. Saban is a great coach but enough is enough.
Me too. Saban had never lost to a Former Assistant before this season he was 24-0 when aTm and Jimbo beat him. Now he is 25-1 after beating Kirby and UGA in the SEC title game. Maybe if he starts losing to them more often like the upcoming Title Game he might start to think of retiring but I doubt it. When he does go out it will likely be as the current Champion and if they win vs UGA this won't likely be his last yr I am afraid.
I am ready for Bama to be the Bama again of post Stallings and pre Saban. I think they will when Saban retires but who knows how long that will be?

I live and work in the Hog state and if I have heard it once I have heard it a million times “ OU is going to find out what the SEC is all about”. My reply is “ I doubt anyone in the athletic department is scared of the challenge”. Well except wussy boy and his minions running to USC.
SEC fans have always had the mentality that if one team wins the NC then they all do. I will never chant the SEC chant.
I was asked recently by a hog fan if I would ever chant SEC SEC SEC when OU joins and I said Hell NO!
Expanding the playoff wasn't the answer for this year. The answer is the committee not inviting 2 teams whom had just played each other literally the day before the selections were made. The decision between those 2 teams was made on the field.
Oklabama...I think you know that almost always, I agree with you, but in this case, these sort of comments are so reminiscent of those made back in the 50s about OUr Sooners, and the NY Yankees...Everyone hated them, because they weren't them! We had Targets on our backs, and the entire NCAA was 'out to get us'...Hoping for 'The Fall'. Most of our Sooner Scoopers weren't even born then, but everyone not wearing Crimson & Cream was 'Weary of Wilkinson', and Company! At the end of the day, Enough, 47 Straight, was NOT Enough...IMO, if Alabama's got it, it's OK to flaunt it...They've earned it. Do we like it? Heck to the NO, but it is what it is. Their attitudes will make it that much more enjoyable when BV and Co., take them down..Patience, Grasshopper, It's Coming!
