He was exhausted because he had to play so many minutes

That's why he was missing free throws late in the game.

The same reason that Maryland's shooting accuracy went downhill as the game progressed. Press Virginia just drained the energy out of the Terps.

Now, on to a giant-killers game against Kentucky. A victory over the Wildcats would be one for the ages.

I did feel for Maryland's top guy, out with the head injury. Visions of Da'Sean in the Final Four, and how I felt as Huggins bent over Butler, made me feel bad for the Terp. I never want any player hurt on either team. Just your best against our best all the way.

This Huggins team was more spirit and fight in it than any WVU team I've ever seen.

Other teams have shot better, but none has scrambled better than this one. A dozen guys go at it from opening tip to the final gun, no letup.

Now they have nearly a week to rest up for another Sweet 16! Sweet!

Staten really needs to shoot free throws with higher efficiency. He misses the front end of the one and one...............two many times and at crucial points in the game. Maybe he will improve against the Cats. Sure hope so. He good. Don't get me wrong.

Guys gave him extended time to rest on the bench. That made a world of difference. His Sr running mate was pretty special tonight also.

Re: I'm wondering if Browne comes off the bench against UK.**

I think that Staten will be OK on Thursday. But if we win he is probably gassed on Saturday.
